Taking a very rare trip into NY for a metal concert at playstation theater. My buddy is flying in from Vegas & we’re gonna make a big deal out of it.We’re bigtime CT raised pizza snobs. Weve both had alot of the good ones in Long Island as well as Jersey but never in the city. We’re looking for a good sit down spot. Additionally we’re staying somewhere near JFK & were looking for a late delivery pizza option for a second go round. I had attempted researching this on my own & even settled on prince st pizza until i found out later it has no sit down options. So many possibilities its overwhelming. I know you foodies in the city wont let me down w some choices.Looking for no nonsense quintessential NY thin crust..no gimmicks! Thank you fellow tri staters!
As far as I know nothing good near JFK---if you guys feel like a cab or an uber 20 minute ride to Brooklyn L n B Spumoni Gardens is legendary---go sit in the restaurant not the pizzeria and order a half tray of Sicilian you can thank me later lol edit here = ------> or just go in the pizzeria and get a half tray to go on your way back to hotel
I haven’t been there in a long time, but John’s was always my go-to place for friends in from out of town: http://www.johnsbrickovenpizza.com/history.html Another favorite of mine is in the theater district, and is also named John’s: http://www.johnspizzerianyc.com/
I’ve been getting pizza at Ben’s at the corner of West 3rd Street and Macdougal Street for almost 40 years - it’s just a New York pizza joint, but I think it’s excellent. Not a restaurant, but there are 4 or 5 tables. Around the corner is Mamoun’s (amazing felafel) and down the block is the Blue Note jazz club.
John's on Bleeker is a good call. It's been a million years, but Patsy's up in Spanish Harlem was always outstanding.
This thread shows the discrimination towards your friendly mod Brook! If I started this thread, I would have heard tons of goat jokes first then a few recommendations from good people that DON'T include @Dierking and @Rollo Tomassi
Roberta's pizza in Bushwick, BK has the best dough, in my opinion. If you don't want to go out to Bushwick, they have a stall in a food hall near Grand Central. The food hall is called Urbanspace Vanderbilt. A lot of other great options at the food hall, as well.
Ok I’ll say this one last time. I am not getting your tags. I get your likes, not your tags. True story. More importantly, why would you need NYC pizza recommendations living and working where you do. Sounds dumb.
Years ago that place used to be just an awesome pizza joint. And across the street great Mongolian BBQ. Allegedly.
Last time. I don't care if you get my tags or not. Stop being melodramatic. Help Kurt and move on. Geez. Lol
Lol. You are right. We truly need a Restaurant recommendations for New York metro area thread and sticky it.
Why D? New York pizza ain’t special imho. Give me Chicago deep dish Pizza all day. P.S. Okay I know. I was half provacative. Please don’t kill me. Lol
Not that you’d venture out to Jersey City but Razza is easily some of the best pizza in the NYC area. Allegedly.
