    Weird. Now they have 2 backups and no QB of the future.

    Maybe they cut ties with Keenum and still want a high draft pick QB?

    I get the feeling that Elway isn't enamored with this year's QB class and wants a hold the fort guy for 2019.

    It doesnt neccessarily remove them from selecting a QB..... if they do, the kid will have time to sit and learn for awhile now (there isnt a surefire stub QB in this draft imo). Or maybe Elway's finally accepting he's done a lousy job picking them so far.

    When Keenum is released he will become a decent, cheap, veteran back up. The Jets could use a decent, cheap, veteran backup

    Seems like a pretty pointless trade, and one that will cost them $10 million on the cap when they dump Keenum (if they keep him they'll have $25 million tied up in two below average quarterbacks).
