I will add a little poll. What do you guys think? Would you want Jets on Hard Knocks again? Well they can't force us to do so no risk. Well here is Mehta's article. https://www.nydailynews.com/sports/...cks-adam-gase-sam-darnold-20190211-story.html
It would be super entertaining but we're combustible enough already. We don't need more distractions.
As much as I love all things Jets, with a new staff and young QB we don't need the distractions. The NY media is already overwhelming, let's not put these guys in a hole before they even get started.
Jamal would love it, but I agree with the Jets saying No. Too much of a distraction during a crucial year in development. Maybe next year.
So Hard knocks has not reached out to the Jets, the Jets have had no internal discussion about the show, but according to Mhets, Hard knocks want the Jets but the Jets said no... Got it.
I was going to bring this up. Great point, @101GangGreen101. No way the Jets do Hard Knocks, but they will likely do One Jets Drive again. The Jets control that and control the editing, so it shouldn't be too much of a distraction for Gase and the new coaches/players.
Pointing out Mhetas BS is fun ! He basically said the same thing in his article. I keep telling him, the voices in his head are not sources. He never E mails me back though.
I don't understand the "no" votes. Honestly, who doesn't want to watch more football? You are a Ny Jets fan but you dont want to watch their practices on HBO? huh???
This is not about entertaining us, this is about using training camp to actually train the players and the feeling that the presence of film crews can only detract from the reason the team is there. Think about any place you have ever worked and decide for yourself if such behind-the-scenes documentation would have a positive or negative effect on the mission of that company.
Thinking about where I work is irrelevant. I don't perform in front of 80,000 people every week. These guys do. they aren't gonna be distracted by some video nerds lol
Laugh all you want but there are guys in the NFL (and at your job, I'll bet) who will do anything to get a little extra face time; it's not about the distraction (I said detract) of simply having others around. I expect you noticed that there appears to be a competition for celebrations for everything from scoring touchdowns to getting on and off the field without falling down. No team needs that kind of competition going on when the goal at camp is to get the players to work with each other.
