PFT is reporting that Miami is expected to cut Tannehill. It's a no brainer for the Jets to bring him in to backup Darnold. The Miami Dolphins the gift that just keeps on giving. LOL If this keeps up I'm gonna refer to them as the farm team. LOL
Wouldn't be shocked if it's Tannehill. Foles is 0% chance. The guy has proven himself to be worthy of a chance to start. No way he comes here to be a backup.
He's great in relief. A decent starter. He's done remarkeable things in his career but I don't think he's a franchise QB. Certainly not worth the going rate of $25+ million per year some guys are making. If he accepts that type of contract it would be to his detriment. He doesn't have the kind of talent to live up to it and he needs a good enough team around him to suceed. Either he accepts a below market contract as a starter or stays a backup QB on a good team those would be his best options if he cares about winning.
Yep. Foles is going to do 1 of 2 things: Stay in Philly for (at least) another year while the Birds figure out what they want to do at QB, or go to some struggling team and hopefully turn them around. Either way, he's not coming to the Jets just to be a backup again. Tannehill honestly would not be a bad backup. Rather than our usual journeymen or practice squad guys, we'll have a backup who, from time to time, has shown at least a bit of competence.
Any interest? https://nypost.com/2019/02/07/christian-hackenberg-hypes-his-return-im-brand-new/ Just kidding! I do hope he figures it out. He tried hard and didn't complain, but those traits don't mean anything if you can't produce.
