This has me pretty damn excited. Jamal is already a top 5 safety IMO.

So we all agree that Williams is going to be in a good spot anywhere along the line.

I think he's got the skillset to be very valuable in this defense due to that versatility.
Maybe Gregg Williams can light a fire under his ass as well.

I think he did an amazing job with the Browns. I was pretty surprised they didn't retain him as their HC. Their mistake is our good fortune. I don't really think the 3/4, 4/3 matters that much. I'm sure we will employ both along with lots of nickel and dime packages. Williams will make it work. We need more good players.

The Browns didn't make a mistake. The real key behind their second-half success was Kitchens. Under him, the Browns had one of the best offenses in the NFL. The defense was mediocre, and most coaches not named Hue Jackson could have won games given that offense.

Damn, you’re right. He does look like Tom Skerritt. I thought that the second I saw this picture. Even before reading what you wrote.

I see. But even if they both agreed to be "co-coaches" why would the DC weigh in on whether or not to punt?

That's your opinion if you don't like him

But I listen to alot of Sports Radio, WFAN NFL Network Mad Dog Sports and espn etc on Cable

Plenty of hosts and guests all divided on thisHire

The common denominator they all agree With what Joe B said, >>>>>the Jets are just a bad organization who cycles through players Coaches GMs and losing seasons

Yea we all know they havent been a good organization. But Joe is a complete idiot. Today his brilliant comment after hearing teh Wwhite Soz offered Machado 7 years 175 MM.....: wow thats only 10 MM per year" . The guy is fucking retarded. His shtick is soooooo old yet people still eat it up. But yes, to each their own I suppose

    I love joe

Loved him when he was a caller

Such an awesome stereotype for my area and my people

    But that’s my opinion

I don’t care if he makes foolish comments. That’s part of the charm.

    Brilliant

Cautiously optimistic with Williams as D.C.

Going forward Gase and GW have to be scratching their heads wondering how Management could invest in so many players on D from 1st or 2nd rounds and still end up ranked bottom of the barrel??!!?

We have an immediate leap of improvement from Bowles Kacy and everyone who coached here( except on ST with Boyer)

They are going to have to work one on one with that bozo Mike Macag and he could unfortunately be the fly in the ointment

He was the head coach and the fact is the Browns faced an amazingly tough group of offensive teams. The ranked 20 in points and 21st in points allowed. Kitchens didn't call plays until week 9. Mayfield didn't start until week 4. The Browns offense based on talent and Mayfield should have been a top 8 NFL O down the stretch, they weren't.

Wonder if his turnover totals are going to increase, I really want to see Jamal get a couple INTs and do something with the ball in his hand.

I recall how are Defense went from a bad lethargic unemotional defense under Mangini into the best defense in the league under Rex. Hopefully GW and an edge rusher will have the same effect.

Good luck, Gregg Williams a/k/a as Captain Dallas. I have unofficial nicknames for everyone. I can't stand the typical annoying stuff, but I find the small things that work for me, lol.

Leo & Lee have been playing out of position. They are best suited for 4-3 defense. Lee can use his speed on the outside, & Leo can use his power in the interior. We need 2 pass rushers. Maybe Jenkins can move back to 4-3 DE if we only pick up 1 pass rusher. He played that position in college. Draft Allen & pick up Ford in FA. That would solidify the line big time. I also feel the 4-3 will help Shepherd.
