Gregg Williams would bring a lot of credibility and experience to a young team.....

Has experience with a young QB and young defensive players, has been part of Super Bowl teams (Titans, Saints), has been a head coach, has beat our team before and has learned under credible coaches (Payton, Buddy Ryan, Jeff Fisher, Joe Gibbs) and can bring intensity to the locker room.

All that perspective is what we need at the moment

I don't really like switching to 4-3 at this point. They are going to have to overhaul the Dline if that's the case, which means they might draft another DL at #3. Please don't let this happen!!

Greg Williams is the "Touch the head" guy. I hate this guy with a passion! Sick f***. I am praying he doesn't come to NY. I don't care what kind of coach he is. I want morality associated with the team I root for.

    Oh well.

Not like the D-line is anything but shite atm.

Only Pennel, sheperd and williams under contract and considering how the top 10 in the draft is all rushers and D line it could work out.

    (I know another 1st round on D)

Also looks like there is a decent amount of 4-3 linemen on FA this year

Lee won’t be traded , he will slide over to will where he made a name for himself at Ohio state. This is a good switch for both lee and Williams and possibly maye as I mentioned before.
Now Anderson was dropping weight to fit into the colts 4-3 when mac traded for him so not sure what we do with him dt in passing situations only? Does he drop the weight and try to be a full time left end?
Jenkins, luvu,Copeland are up in the air too.

I think Leo could fit in nicely as a 3 technique and then draft Josh Allen on the edge. Darron Lee is probably better suited as a 4-3 Weakside as well. Williamson at Mike. Don’t think the transition is a bad as first blush

He didn't change. He just keeps his sick mouth shut after a suspension and hefty fine. A person is who he is.

Interesting. So Lee was playing out of position this whole time? Further proof of the incompetence of Bowles and Macc. Nice post.

Yes and no. Bowles has kind of a quirky defense in the sense that he likes these hybrid LB/S guys that can be all over the field. He tried to make Lee that guy, and he was very good this past season in coverage. That's not how Lee made a name for himself at Ohio State though. He may more success as a pass rusher in the 4-3 but then you have to ask if it's worth taking him away from what he did well...

Good luck finding that. These guys are weekend gladiators. Maybe you should check out the church scene.

Weekend gladiators, my ass. Football is a game. You don't coach players to cause life altering BRAIN DAMAGE to a guy who's just trying to make a living so your team has a better chance of winning a single football game.

Eh, not a lot of schools playing a 3-4 so hard to find linebackers that wouldn’t have to switch positions coming out of college. That goes for inside and out. Part of the reason why we have been searching for that edge rusher so long.

Our nickle was more often than not a 4 man from the past few years. The Line will need some tweaking, not an overhaul. Besides, its not as if we had an extremely effective D line for a 34 anyway. This should actually play to the strengths of Williams and Shepherd by allowing them to attack instead of trying to occupy blockers so much. Anderson is not really a traditional 43 end and may find himself at one of the DT positions as well.

    Dear lord

He'll keep the lads motivated alright.

    o_O

Oh and "The Bears struggled during Loggains' tenure as OC, with a November 2017 ranking by ESPN placing him dead last among 32 playcallers"

And also it doesn't look like he has spent more than one year at a job in his entire career, he had 3 different jobs at the Titans and two with the Bears.

He has been a QB coach 3 times 2010/11 Titans, 2014 Browns, 2016/17 Bears.

Getting rid of Lee would be "addition by subtraction" IMO.

Jenkins could play on the strong side in the base. Luvu is JAG and should be at best a back up / special teams player anyway. he and Copeland can provide some depth if the make the roster.

This would be a terrific move. Tell Gase to stay out of the way and let this guy run his D. I would love to see the type of player Adams would turn into in aggressive type D
