Despite the risk of a lower pick, I’d like to see Bowles go out with his head high and reach the organizational benchmark of success of 5 wins. Ruining the Pats chance at home field in the first round would just be a bonus. Next week will be the first week I’ll be genuinely pulling for us to win in a while.
Not gonna happen. Would be nice though but if this piece of garbage defense cant stop the Packers who are throwing 2nd and 3rd stringers out there and a backup RB, they are hopeless and Brady will feast on them.
Nothing would make me happier. Dear Bowles, win in Foxboro and everything is forgotten. I will remember you fondly.
I agree with JetBlue here. Beating the Patriots next week would be worth loosing a spot or two in the draft - unless, perhaps if the Jets had the #1 pick in the bag, which I doubt will happen.
If by some chance Arizona and Oakland win today and tomorrow you've got to root for a loss. Otherwise you're talking picking 3rd, 4th, or 5th, so yeah, winning isn't such a big deal.
Nope. I want either (a) the best offensive tackle in the draft, or (b) to be able to trade the pick to some team desperate for a QB. Neither is guaranteed with a win next week. I'd bench the entire roster if I could.
At this point I'll take draft position. I'd love to see a game almost identical to the Packers game. Sam plays great, but the team just barely loses.
werent we headed in the right direction last year..... turns out they were right. wasted 2 years with a bad coach, simply for the sake of not wanting to change. and now we will continue with a bad gm just to make it annoying again next year. fucking years just keep on ticking by.
Turns out that the Jets will still be in the running for the #1 pick. Hard to root for them to win and drop all the way down to #4 or #5. Unfortunately the Cardinals and Niners play at 4:25, so there will be no way of knowing at the time what the Jets are playing for.
It will be interesting to see if the Rams play their starters versus the 49ers if the Bears lose early to the Vikings. On that same token, what happens early with the NFC Wildcard teams could determine what the Hawks do versus the Cards.
Beating the Pats at home in a meaningful game for Darnold as a rookie and the rest of a young Jets team would be far more valuable than any potential lost draft position.
I agree I WANT the Jets to win vs Pats I know this is a MISTAKE because our pick will suffer But I want that symbolic “fuck you cheaters, your run is now over” moment I don’t want them to retire. I want to beat them while playing. Just my stupidity
