I FORGOT TO MENTION I MEANT 2019 FA TO KEEP ON ROSTER Quincy Myers Roberts R. Anderson Anderson Luvu Copeland Roberts Piere-Lewis McClendon
Hack, Petty, Coples, Devin Smith, Lorenzo Mauldin, Calvin Pryor, Jace Amaro, Dee Milner, Stephen Hill, Greg McElroy, Scotty McNight, Kyle Wilson, Vlad Ducasse, and last, but not least, Vernon Gholston
Kevin Pierre-Lewis will not be a FA. He signed a 2-year contract. For now, I'd keep the following UFAs (in order of preference). Of course, that is subject to change following FA and the draft. Henry Anderson Andre Roberts Jason Myers Quincy Enunwa Darryl Roberts Brent Qvale Brandon Copeland Steve McLendon Neal Sterling Josh Martin Jeremiah Attaochu I'd keep the following RFAs and ERFAs: Robby Anderson Doug Middleton Frankie Luvu Davis Webb Eric Smith De'Angelo Henderson Deontay Burnett The Jets currently have 29 players under contract for next season. Adding these 18 would bring the total up to 47, which would greater stability and insurance. Question: What about the PS players? None are included in the 29 players that the Jets have under contract for next season, yet I don't see them included in the FA list, either. Do the Jets retain their rights, or are they just not considered worthy of being called FAs?
i'll put this here since I don't want to start a thread. not my thought so I can't take credit but, should we do an osweiler/Cleveland type trade for bortles and a draft pick from the jags. basically turn our cap surplus into a draft pick? any objections to that?
Nope. Basically paying $19.5 million for a second round pick. We can sign a player like Darby, or Saffold plus Williams for that money. We realistically have about $50-55 million Max in cap to spend factoring in the 34 FAs we have, draft pool and about $ 10 mill for Robby and Q. Dont think the talent in this draft is worth such a large portion of the Available cap space.
Henry Anderson Andre Roberts Jason Myers Quincy Enunwa Brandon CopelandRobby Anderson Frankie Luvu Davis Webb These are all the guys I would keep. The rest of the players are either aging or have not shown enough to warrant being kept.
I just looked it up and Bortles is under contract for $21 million with a $16.5 million dead cap if he is cut. Wow! That is the worst deal I have seen in awhile since he is borderline trash. That is what you get for reaching the AFC Championship Game with a great roster around you! That Cleveland trade for Osweiler was ridiculous though. I hope the Jets don't play games like that. I guess it would depend on the pick offered.
Not feasible. The Jets only have 29 players already under contract for next season. Your 8 would only bring them up to 37. Even if all 7 draft picks made the team (which knowing Mac, they probably won't), they'd still have to sign 9 outside FAs.
