Not a shock with this move. He was banged up going into Buffalo and when he came out I thought his year was over. We'll see but I think it was his last carry as a Jet. He had a few good games for us but nothing special and he brought the Browns to life after his td. Won't miss him. Be nice to see McGuire get the bulk of the carries. I think he is a 10-15 touch a game guy. Not a 20 guy but he should get that the last three weeks.
Eli looked pretty decent to me lately I know he’s a converted basketball guy but he has some nice quickness through the hole Who knows. Maybe he can develop....
I hope we bring him back....his 2019 contract is $4M (zero guaranteed), $2M cap hit if he's cut. So for $2M we have a really good, almost never injured, ground and pound guy who can bang out 200 yards on a good day. One less hole for Macc to fill coming into the 2019 FA and draft. Any RB can look great for a game or 3, (see Ivory), but durability over the course of 16 games is very rare (see Martin). We have that durability in Crowell. Having a RB that can run strong the whole season and not hobbled by 15 injures is a good thing.
I agree I would like to keep him here for depth. Barry Sanders couldn’t run behind this oline. If we can upgrade 2 positions on the line in the offseason I think we could be a lot better next season.
Yeah good luck finding that throughout the NFL. Every RB at this time of year is nicked and banged up. Maybe if Macc would have addressed the OL in his 4 years here it, could help this guys not running into walls.
This. I wouldn't think twice if we moved on from him. TBH I was meh on getting him when we first did.
Week 1 - att 10, yrds 102 td's 2 Week 2 - att 12, yrds 35 Week 3 - att 16, yrds 34 td's 2 Week 4 - att 4, yrds 0 Week 5 - att 15, yrds 219 td's 1 Week 6 - att 13, yrds 40 Week 7 - att 11, yrds 29 Week 8 - att 13, yrds 25 Week 9 - att 13, yrds 49 Week 10 - att 7, yrds 19 td's 1 Week 12 - att 6, yrds 30 Week 13 - att 21, yrds 98 Week 14 - att 2, yrds 5 In all of those games he has been the starter since week 8, 6 games, I think if you took the outlier of week 5 out of the equation then we could safely say dump this beast on the scrapheap, he has been woeful and has had injuries all across the season so not sure why you think he hasn't. 2 good games and 1 world class performance does not make a really good player.
Loads probably but then again it was the same OL v Denver, same could be said about playcalling tbh it does seem pretty obvious when we are about to run the ball, in all honesty I still can't believe the Denver game happened lol
I hear ya, but Crowell supposedly played 4 yrs in Cleveland without missing a game. He's supposed to be super durable, which is a great trate.
Crowell would be a good #2. It's hard to remember what a #1 rb looks like. Thomas Jones had a few good years, but he was at the tail end of his career.
For most of the season we've blaming our Oline (at lease on here) for having no ability to open holes or sustain blocks, giving our RBs a chance. Now it's the RBs fault. Got it! thanks for clearing the up. There's a few ppl on here who still think we need a new Oline. I'll let them know it's been the RBs all along!
Nice to see you read the next 3 posts in the thread before becoming Mr Arsey because somebody tried to suggest Crowell wasn't a 200+ yards beast and never gets injured.
