He is having a very good game today, and has been pretty much automatic for us this year. Has probably been our MVP this year. We need to re-sign him asap IMO.
I feel like the Jets have wasted one of the greatest seasons by a kicker in their history. Let’s hope he has more of this in him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He s having a great season and im glAd hes on the JETS Whats funny is the boos he got from the JAX home crowd. Kickers are a quirky bunch....
Nice positive thread. I do like how our special teams have performed up until now. Myers, Edwards, and Roberts are all top of the league and should be kept by any means possible.
I would hope we keep him on as I would speculate a new head coach won't necessarily shake things up in an one of our few strong areas. Kind of like Westhoff surviving multiple coaching coaches when he was successful.
The Hebrew Hammer has been a stud. Should be going to the Pro Bowl. But, yeah, I can see us nickel and dime-ing him and he lands elsewhere next season... Which would be dumb
On the contrary, he wouldn't have having nearly as historic a season if the offense was more efficient. It's quite the conundrum.
A guy walks into a bar on Jets Game Day with his dog. "Hey, you can't bring that dog in here," yells the barkeep. "But this is a special dog," the guy replies. "What's so special about him?" "Watch!" The guy puts the dog on the bar and waits for the Jets to march down the field and kick a field goal. The dog runs down the length of the bar and just before the end, does a perfect back flip. Later the Jets score another FG and sure enough, the dog repeats his run and back flip. After one more FG and back flip, the bartender says, "Hey, that really is a special dog. What does he do when the Jets score a touchdown?" "I don't know, I've only had the dog for three years."
Like safeties, you can't have too many kickers. Spend a 2nd rounder on one. wait, we don't have a 2nd rounder.....
Unfortunately for all of us, getting random kickers on our roster who overachieve has been one of Maccagnan's best attributes. He's been incredible at it.
