I was agreeing. Stupid thread is stupid. He’s one of our best players and will form a stout tandem next year and for years after.
No overblown at all, and would not even surprise me a bit. Still cannot believe that Maccagnan selected FOUR defensive backs and 3 receivers in one draft (2017), and ZERO offensive or defensive lineman in that same draft. I guess the game is only played outside the numbers. Has any NFL general manager ever done anything that stupid? He likes to address one position or two during the draft instead of getting best player available. That is why the jets current roster is quite frankly piss poor.
He lost me when he missed playing time with a broken finger earlier in the season. Pu$$y. We need more Jamal Adams warrior types, less Leonard Williams, Marcus Maye pansy types.
I hope next year he's in good enough shape if he has to return a int. a long way he doesn't look more like a 300+ lbs linemen towards the end of the return than a real NFL DB.
It was a semi-sarcastic baited question. He only missed 3 games in college due to injury and has never been injury prone. Hes a dam tough football player and has really had a bad season. The thumb the foot and now the shoulder. My fingers are crossed this doesn't carry over and was just bad luck this year cause Maye/Adams combo at safety for us will be huge for years to come. These guys compliment each other very well.
No I have standards. I have absolutely zero loyalty for players who clearly don't care enough about their jobs to keep themselves in peak physical condition or aren't here to help the Jets win a championship. Guys like Leonard Williams, Marcus Maye & Trumaine Johnson are only here to collect paychecks and I'll call them out every chance I get. We need more guys like Jamal Adams, Daryl Roberts, Henry Anderson guys who care enough about their jobs to keep themselves in top shape, maximize every bit of talent they have, overachieve and give 100% effort to try to help the Jets win games.
I don't think I'd put Maye in the class of players who are here to collect paychecks He had a good rookie year, and a lost 2nd season full of injuries and bad luck.. Can't give up on him yet
He's also been a significant part of teams that went to 4 super bowls. Winning 3. Yes Casserly has been wrong but he's been more right than wrong in his life. And I'm no Casserly fanboy
There are 12 games in a season. Maybe became a starter his junior year, played the whole season, broke his arm late his senior year and missed 3 games. He really didn't have an injury issue at Florida
I too hope he just hit a patch of bad luck. . 2nd season as a starter at Florida: . season-ending injury. 2nd season with the Jets: . out for the year. . .
I hated this pick from day 1. Not because Maye is a bad player. It’s just beyond stupid to waste a first AND second round pick on a low value position like Safety on a team with holes all over the place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
