Yes many fans were expecting 5 wins. Because of Bowles. So of course they want him fired when their prediction's coming true.

I wasn't impressed with the job he did when all our guys were healthy.

    BUT

I'm stunned at how many fans & people in the media are overlooking the fact that the Jets offense has been DECIMATED by injuries the past several weeks. Absolutely destroyed.

There's a reason why the offense has been "stagnant" for a while now. It's not all Bates fault.

They weren’t exactly setting the world on fire before the injuries.

Excellent point! I can't imagine there's anyone who wanted him fired after either the 2016 or 2017 season who doesn't still want him fired, precisely because nothing has changed.

I agree but they did score some points, they did make explosive plays. Crowell's 200+ yards rushing game vs Denver.

Powell is out for the year, #1 & #2 WRs have been injured or playing injured, the senseless cutting of Pryor who had scored 2 TDs.

It's no surprise the offensive production has gone downhill. To expect the Jets offense to be productive under these circumstances is to expect Bates to be a miracle worker.

No argument there, just saying, there was plenty of questionable play calling while the O was fully intact.

It's not just a personnel problem, think about the game where we threw WR screen after WR screen ( i cant think of which game, bc i probably blocked most of it out)

No adjustments, no creativity, no guts and hence no glory

There were a few games that were easily winnable...but for shitty coaching.

No wonder the players look like zombies out there.

But they keep overachieving that is what the owners and fans want. Low expectations and overachieving in reaching the lowest bar ever set. They should have kept Morton as OC.

"We have to score points in this league to win football games."

Did he steal this quote from Herm?

well most was an exaggeration on my part since there are like a few dozen active people here out of millions and millions of jet fans but do we not remember the fire idzik billboards after 1 year? i mean yeah he was terrible but still jet fans as a whole have 0 patience. I'm just saying the jets need to do whats best for sam. every decision made from now until 2020 should be what can we do to help sam suceed
@Ralebird ^ kinda proves my point a little lol

belichick wouldn't win with this team as is. we need a couple more years to finish the rebuild. even if we get a new staff we are a couple of years away

I'm pretty confident Belichick would get a winning record with this team. Though he's about the only coach who would. Nonetheless, if we keep Bowles and Mac, I don't think the rebuild will ever finish because they don't know what they're doing. And a good coach and GM can turn a team around very quickly, especially if they get Darnold to work out.

You know the Bills "senselessly" cut Pryor more recently than we have, right?

Bears coaching staff would be pretty good. Really like Nagy and their DC Vic Fangio, they have the absolute best set-up along with McVay and Phillips. Both with DCs that will never look to be a HC. Fangio was good last year w/out Mack.

Man that would be great, I would take a hard look at our old friend Mike Pettine as DC. McCarthy is good as gone. Can't miss out on these opportunities, everyone is going to have an offensive minded HC soon.

    Ummmm, no. Not at all.

You're saying the Jets need to do what's best for Darnold, even as it's yet to be proven that Darnold is what's best for the Jets and the more you deny it the more you talk about how no other coach could perform better than Bowles has.

Perhaps it would be best if you petition the mods for a name change and start fresh.
