I was listening to Mike Francesa on the drive home from work during a interview he said he wants to see the Jets hire a proven winner for their next head coach. He brought up the name of Bruce Arians multiple times said he'd be perfect for the Jets and he'd be perfect for the NY market. He mentioned John Harbaugh too.

He said Arians is bored to tears away from the game and wants back into coaching. This was the first time I've seen Arians name in connection with the Jets and coming from Mike Francesa I get the feeling he knows something.

Francesa also said there could be a lot of teams looking for a new head coach this coming offseason. He doesn't think Jim Harbaugh would work out in the NY market and he doesn't le Mike McCarthy here either.

My take on Arians is if the Jets could get a 2x head coach of the year to coach the team and develop Darnold it would be a incredible hire by the Jets.

Like I said Harbaugh isn't coming here for several reasons. Arians is a top football mind. He just got burned out in AZ but he would get this thing going in the right direction if he was willing to commit a good 4 years to this franchise.

I love Arians. How old is he though? Is he someone who would stick around a while?

Bowles was Arians's DC in Arizona, I can't see Arians coaching the team that fired his protege. Plus didn't Arians say he was only interested in the Browns job?

Francesa was also saying he thinks Bowles could stay under Arians as DC. I can not see that happening

  7. Arians & Bowles are good buddies. Is Arians prepared to possibly show up his buddy? Who knows but Bowles left him in Zona to take this job..”what goes around comes around”.

I love when i can fit a Ratt reference into my posts:)

Maybe he comes as OC? I loved him in AZ but a lot of fans turned on him when the team had to dump players for cap space.

More likely that Arians takes a job elsewhere and takes Bowles with him

Bruce Arians is like Todd's brother. He absolutely would not take the job right after Bowles left. 100% no for that reason alone. You guys are nuts for even thinking this has a chance.

I'll take this and other replacement rumors with a grain of salt this time of year.

Francesa is not in the know. In fact I don't think the J&J brothers have even started formulating a plan so if they don't have a clue no one else does.
I have no issue having Arian but I want a young talented OC under his wing to carry the torch. As for Bowles, I don't care where he goes, or if he stays as D.C. He will never be a HC again.

Arians never developed Matt Barkley in 2 different stints in Arizona.

No freaking way!!! Bowles needs to be jettison as soon as possible and never to return to New York. It is his defense right now and it looks horrible.

    This.

Arians has even joked about Todd throwing some work his way. With tons of cap and a young FQB, Arians could come in and take over the offense. This would be pretty neat and free up Todd to focus more on the Defense, where he's more comfortable. Todd could even appoint Arians as Assistant HC.

The only real question is if J&J would be willing to pay for it to happen. Arians would comand much form than a typical OC.
