I'm at the point where it has to be a LT if a top LT prospect is on the board when we pick. This OL needs blue chip talent in the worst way and as you said, they can sign a FA Edge Rusher. I'm not sure if FA is the best way to get a RB when we can draft one in the mid rounds or wait for a loaded class in 2020.

If the Jets do manage to get the second pick, they can trade back a few spots, still get the LT in round 1 and would have a second round pick from the trade back, plus additional picks this draft and /or next.

I would think no matter where the Jets land in the draft order trading down would be the first priority.

It would be fantastic to get the 2nd pick with the NYGs at 3 and trade down with a team that wants Herbert.

Oh god the headlines would write themselves at that point. After them passing on Sam we would then turn around to historically screw them over like that would be great.

Reports are Raiders will take a QB with the #1 pick.

If we get to 3rd, Bosa is a strong possibility.

I cannot believe they'd give up on Carr that quick.

For the QBs coming out, no less.

Reports in November?? You can’t even believe draft reports a week before the draft and you think they can be believed 6 months before?

My best logical guess would be they stick with Carr another year, possibly take a shot at a mid round QB and if it fails they are armed with ammo for Tua.

If we want to follow the Colts, we need Darnold to start playing great next year, then get hurt for 2 years so they can tank, build the team despite having a franchise QB, then insert a veteran franchise QB into the built up team. It isn't happening like that for us, nor would Jets fans be patient enough with an oft injured QB.

I'd like to follow the path the current Colts GM took in securing the protection for their FQB by taking 2 OL in the first 2 rounds this year.

We'll see. There were grumblings Carr is on the outs with Gruden, they will probably get a ton of trade offers in the off season for him.

I can see them trading for picks and also earning the #1 overall in the draft.

Edit: Just looked up mocks and this was the first I saw:

    1. Oakland Raiders: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon

The top prospect in this year’s quarterback class, Herbert could still decide to return for another season with the Ducks, and he would certainly benefit from another year of college experience. But his high-end NFL tools are already present, as he ranks third in the country with 25 big-time throws, and he combines his arm talent with the type of athleticism that would allow him to run many of the option looks in today’s NFL. The bigger question is whether Raiders Coach Jon Gruden is willing to move on from Derek Carr, who has earned the third-worst passer rating against pressure this season among all QBs.

we are NEVER that lucky when it comes to draft slots. would be great if it happened at #2. thinking we go 4-12 but it likely gets us to 4 only.

After Carr grounded that 4th down pass last week. You could tell by Grudens look that a QB was going to be the pick!

  14. Trade down to the OL or skill player sweet spot & lets finally give this offensive personnel some long overdue TLC.

Banking on finding an edge in FA..all other defensive pick options are cringeworthy.Fix this offense for the love of dogs..

Do the Jets have a second round pick in 2019?

    A good week for tanking.

Giants & Bucs. Both teams competing for a high draft pick. I'm not too worried about Giants, they will go QB this time, so we should root for the Bucs to win.

Oakland & Arizona - Root for Arizona, they will be competition for OL / Edge rusher.

Lions & Panthers - Root for Detroit.

Broncos & Chargers - Root for Broncos.

To a lesser extent, it's good for the Colts to beat the Titans and Jags to beat the Steelers.

No, but getting a top 3 pick and trading down could yield a 2nd round pick.

Giants are winning, and that's a positive. Moves us up to 4th place, now if the Cards beat the Raiders this evening, we're at 3.
How sweet would it be to trade down to a QB needy team, pick up extra picks and deny the Giants the QB.
