He's ranting but making sense. Has the entire floor to himself, I think Evan is off today. EDIT: Nope, Evan is there...he just completely shut up and let Joe had the intro floor.
Jets won't fire him till January. We'll get a lame duck coach for the next month and change. Meanwhile, they will push the narrative about how damaging it's going to be to Darnold if they fire them now. Same old shit.
this ownership is both clueless and gutless.....even leon hess had his limits. fired kotite and brought in the tuna, with the hoodie along, at great cost to his wallet. soony werblin would have had bowles off the team as soon as the game ended. he had both smarts and balls.
Ha, exactly. Changing coaches midseason is so overblown. The whole point is to get a jump-start on finding a new successor, not installing new systems. By all intents and purposes, Darnold would be running the same playbook until a new hire came in. Cimini is saying the Jets are doing this to keep the defensive continuity together, that's even more laughable.
I want Bowles gone today as well. In all honesty we have absolutely no one to replace him, and it won't help Darnold, but I want Bowles fired now for the relief it will provide this fan base. We need it right now.
The silver lining to keeping Bowles to go winless the rest of the season is it would be hard for Mac to escape a 3-13 season. I’m confident that Mac had to be given a say in Bowles extension so he should be given the boot with him, beyond his obvious draft acumen.
JETS fire Bowles, no problem. WFAN fires Benigno, no problem. However something tells me that as bad as the Jets end up record-wise, Maccagnan survives (though I was never a fan of Mac's "OLs can be found in the middle/later rounds" mindset). - NE coming off a beatdown - loss (3-8) - @ a resurgent Titans team - loss (3-9) - @ Bills (embarrassed revenge) - win (4 - 9) - Texans (Watt &co. vs. NYJ OL) - loss (4-10) - GB (w/o Aaron Rogers, Jets win, however) - loss (4-11) - @ NE - loss (4-12) .
Watch them beat Buffalo, get lucky or something against the Texans and then face GB without Rodgers and NE sits Brady because they already have the division and bye wrapped up. Bowles wins 4 in a row to close out the year, 3 of them against Jv teams but he keeps his job for finishing strong haha
Top of the AFC is pretty crowded right now. I'd be surprised if the Jets/Pats game doesn't have some sort of implications.
Part of me is a little worried because Bowles needs something miraculous to save his job and he has that platform. Jets Schedule Patriots Titans Bills Texans Packers Patriots We could easily (and will probably) lose out and go 3-13. However if they won out or only lost 1 game (let's say to the Texans), how could Chris Johnson not re-evaluate Bowles. Here me out : I want bowles GONE no matter what. I really do, I hate his coaching. But if the Jets go 8-8 and beat the Patriots twice and Packers, you'd think it would be enough for them to at least re-evaluate Bowles.....and that's scary. If the rest of our schedule was against scrubs like the Bills, Giants, Raiders, Cardinals, 49ers and we won most of those...that wouldn't be all that impressive. The very fact that our schedule is tough gives Bowles the chance for his miracle even though it's 0.000001% likely and I hate every bit that there's even a chance it could happen.
I'm just afraid at this point that they'll keep Bowles another year. They'll just keep up the same narrative they're using to justify not firing Bowles now: "Can't blame him for a rookie QB with no #1 receiver..." "They're still rebuilding; Rome wasn't built in a day..." "Changing coaches will be detrimental to Darnold's development..." The Johnsons seem to be your typical bad bosses. They're too stubborn and proud to admit when a decision they made isn't working. They won't listen to people who know what they're talking about. They only want to hire yes men. They're not involved enough to get the pulse of the organization, but they do micromanage enough to undermine and screw up the plans of people who could actually do some good.
