Enunwa & Anderson are very talented “niche” players.Neither run a full route tree or are complete WRs.They are complimentary rather than focal points Theres nothing wrong w this however as both bring something unique & very valuable to the table. If the team brought in a #1 option as well as some more well rounded ones theyd fit in quite nicely & could form something meaningful. All this said are they dominant or “good enough” for what this team needs for playmakers?Absolutely not.Not even close
I have to wonder what those rankings would look like if Sam had time to find an open man before being forced to get rid of the ball. One of the things Brady has had throughout his career has been protection - even when he's had no marquee receivers, he's had time to scan the field and find the open man. He also works the middle of the field and the short passing game expertly, and it opens up receivers downfield. We, on the other hand, continue to throw outside the numbers unsuccessfully with our QB running for his life.
Colorado, I agree with most of what you say some of the time... ...but when is all his smartness & learning gonna kick in? I'm getting kinda bored... He's a likable kid. I get that. He's ranked 33rd among qb's...Josh Allen is 34th. He's the nicest guy to ever lead the league in interceptions. If he wasn't such a nice, likable kid he'd be getting a lot more flak around here. Maybe he kinda deserves it.
Up until this past game he was improving, if not by stats, by his decision-making, and not making the same mistakes twice. But during this last game he came to the conclusion that he was going to try and carry the offense by himself and he started forcing things. It was his worst game by far. But I still believe he has the brains and ability and innate feel for the game, and most importantly, he works hard at it, unlike Geno who didn't show that same work ethic. All that said, if he has to continue to work with this CS and talent, it's not going to be a steady climb upwards.
All you proved with these numbers is that they are not producing this year, which we are all aware of and are discussing in this thread. It's hard to give either of them a ranking when both have had injuries and both are suffering from a piss poor offensive line and horrible play calling. Let's look at last year when Anderson was healthy. He was ranked 4th in the league in deep threat, by PFF, above Tyreek Hill, Marvin Jones Jr, DeAndre Hopkins, and Doug Baldwin. He scored more touchdowns on deep passes than any other receiver in the NFL, and every single one of his touchdowns was for over 20 yards. #1 receiver? No. Very talented? Yes.
Sequence: Botched snap! (DL smells blood on the water) Recover and reset - half to full second lost Starts progression - already under pressure Gets to maybe second read (who isn’t open or maybe ran the wrong route) Throws - gotta try something, right? Imagine if he just threw it away every time there was nothing there, or when the play started out broken. He’d lead the league in completion percentage to the stands.
