...he went up against a pretty good defense today, and he had a really nice game and let you guys to an unexpected upset! So congrats Jets fans, the kid looks good!
It's one game.....This is the wrong mentality to have.We overreacted after the Lions game I'll wait until week 16
Exactly. It's one game against a bad football team. Let's see how the rest of the season plays out when he plays some teams that aren't Detroit or Denver.
He was nice today Considering he’s 21 or whatever The tip ball syndrome makes me pause (he’s too locked in on a player) but he did throw some dimes and he does seem to learn and an accelerated pace and is mellow yellow no matter what Still a great chance to be our guy for the next dozen or so years
He’ll definitely be our guy. He’s gonna make some amazing plays, and probably throw his share of picks, but once things are built up around him, we’ll be in for some exciting football week in and week out. I shudder to think what he could do if he had weapons like Eli does. Maybe if Powell and Crowell can be consistent and the OL gels, we’ll get a minor preview of what the future holds this season.
This thread makes no sense. Fans already have patience with Sam Darnold and no intelligent fan thought he was the problem. It wasn't an upset either, as the Jets were favorites and should have won. Not to mention the Broncos defense was terrible. Thanks, I guess?
What I liked from him today was that even with his incompletions, the ball either hit the receivers hands or was pretty damn close (minus the batted balls). I like what I'm seeing. He just needs to keep building on it each week.
The only thing I have been worried all year is the offensive line keeping him upright. I don't want him getting rattled/injured from getting hit too much since I know he is capable of getting better otherwise. The team will get more weapons, that is not a problem when we are going to have $100mm in cap space.
This wasn't an upset. The people who were impatient with him 4 games into his career are going to continue to be impatient 5 games into his career. Its dumb to crown him or throw him away at this point. What does make me happy is his bad games so far have been better than most jet QBs good games the past few years.
Let’s not sugar coat. Darnolds bad games have been bad. McCown had a solid, if unspectacular season statistically last year. Fitz had one of the single best seasons by a Jets QB statistically a few years back. Darnolds play has arguably been the worst we’ve had in years. That doesn’t mean he has the least potential, though.
I think what really stands out from yesterday is that Sam Darnold can perform at an extremely high level when his offensive line blocks and does their job. This gives A LOT of hope for his future with this franchise. If we can put together a good offensive line, his ceiling could be huge!
Mehta has already anointed this CS/FO as the second coming after yesterday. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...s-mehta-main-jets-broncos-20181007-story.html The only thing yesterday proved is that once in a while, the Jets can put together a complete game. In no way does yesterday portend any kind of trending as one game doesn't prove anything.
Love the overreaction to a win. Classic Jet fan mentality, we lose the sky is falling, fire everyone, we win, were Superbowl bound.
As i have posted a few times before, Darnold is Gold the HC/GM Fools Gold Sams performance yesterday blew me away with the touches he put on the ball, the dimes he landing and the sync with his receivers etc IMO the kid is making an inherently BAD set of Managers look really good Plus he might also be the reason the rest of the team, OL has elevated their play Of course, this was a WEAK opponent and like others have commented take what positives you can from it..but sorry no wholesale endorsement for TB and company..yet
