Yes, somewhere around there. His HS yearbook photo has him wearing a Phins jersey but then his brother got Jets season tickets and started taking him to games.
Man...that’s embarrassing. Well, at least I think it is. I’ve always viewed fandom as a one time choice per sport. And like any bad choice, you have to live with it. The fact that it was the Phins makes it so much worse.
Seems like an SOJ excuse. What's a little food in your face and a few death threats. Do you realize how many times this team has killed me? Man up.
Yep, sticking with the team makes it that much more special when they finally win it all. Though the ways things are going I wonder if I will be around when they wow again.
Fireman Ed is a Jets icon. How does any Jets fan not like him or vote "no" here? Of course he's a homer. He's a diehard fan, goes to road games and leads chants. Wouldn't it be silly if he was criticizing the team between games or declaring people busts who haven't broken out yet like fans on here? These poll results make me sad. Somewhere, some way, a little bunny just got brutally tortured and killed as a result of this poll. Goodbye faith in humanity. And yeah, Ed was harassed by rabid fans at games for wearing a Sanchez jersey when the guy has been more dedicated to the team than 99% of Jets fans over the years. Disgraceful.
the whole super-fan thing is just extremely lame. I'm sorry. It's like these idiots outgrew the star trek conventions or something.
The act is just tired. I really don't like this guy as the face of the franchise. A retired fireman? Nobody cares. Whenever the Jets are good, he gets massive air time, so he looks like a bandwagon fan. Although I think he's actually gone underground during some of the lean years, so maybe the rep is somewhat deserved. Not that I don't do the exact same thing, mind you.
I nominate Dierking to pick up the torch and lead these fans to J_E_T_S GLORY!!! What kind of funny hat do you got? Gotta have a cool hat...
Thanks, dude. I appreciate it. Schillinger has been trying to intimidate me, like he used to intimidate Beecher back in the day!
PJ O'Rourke on hats: "A hat should be taken off when you greet a lady and left off for the rest of your life. Nothing looks more stupid than a hat."
I have no idea who Schillinger or Beecher may be. I'm not good with intimidation...a swift kick in the nuts works wonders.
