That the "fire the coach" talk and "Sam's not as good as Baker" is WAY too over reactive. Too high on the Jets after the 1st game, too low on them now. Bowles is dealing with average players at best, and no real play makers...

Please. Perhaps the talent only performs average because they are poorly coached; it’s not as if we don’t have multiple years of examples of Bowles poor coaching to point to.

Nobody is reacting to this game in isolation as an indictment of Bowles. If that’s his position he’s not being reasonable he is simply being contrary to the popular opinion.

Here's Benigno & Roberts. More echoing the sentiment here.

Exactly. It is completely unreasonable to react to what has been going on for years by saying that Bowles' problems are because of the quality of the players. The quality of the players has absolutely nothing to do with all of the things people are commenting on. Indeed, what else is a coach supposed to do but put his players in their best position to succeed? Winning games is easy if you have way more talent than the opposition - it's when you don't that a coach can make a difference.

Francesca is a Bowles apologist (Parcells recommendation) and loved Darnold prior to the draft

Not saying he’s definitely wrong but it’s more about his own ego than anything he actually believes

Bowles sucks and all, but don't fool yourself. The talent sucks too.

The continuity argument makes me insane

Continuity does not equal anything positive by itself......

It could be a positive but that word alone does not mean anything is positive.

People smoke 2 packs is a day for decades. That’s continuity but not good.

North Korea has had the same family lead it since the 50’s. That’s continuity but not good.

Stop the continuity argument (directed at Tank Francesa)

Bowles is a dinosaur stuck in the mud. The modern NFL is following the Rams formula.

Like it or not this is a copycat league and we need to implement that formula and get rid of Bowles and the stupid continuity argument ASAP before Darnold is wasted.

Get a young offensive guy in there, let him and Sam grow together.

The team is out of shape.

    That is 100% on Bowles.

They choked away a 14-0 lead then a 17-14 lead against the biggest losers in the sport.

If it happened against NE that'd be one thing it happened against 0-18 Cleveland it's another thing entirely.

Normally I'd be more calm but I think this loss was a d@mning statement of where we're at four years into this regime's 'rebuild'.

The Browns could be a .500 team with Mayfiekd; still won’t change the fact that the Jets were the first team to lose to them in two years. That’s an embarrassing fact.

They won't be. Even with Mayfield in there they still tried to choke away the game to the Jets how many times did Mayfield hit a receiver in the numbers only to see the pass get dropped?

It's Cleveland it's what they do they've mastered the art of losing. Other teams won't allow Mayfield to play with zero pressure & wide open receivers everywhere.

This game was not just a loss for the Jets. It was a d@mning statement of where we're at four years into this regime's 'plan'.

What's the media'a agenda to keep MacCagnan employed? I've heard Francesa defend MacCagnan before.

They tell us the Jets are finally doing things 'the right way' with this GM a football guy then they turn around and pick the Jets to lose to awful Cleveland then when it happens they tell us we're overeacting because the team really isn't that good.

    Which is it?

FOUR YEARS INTO THIS REGIMES PLAN!!

    FOUR YEARS.

It's time to stop blaming the previous GM (we know how they liked to kick him around) hold these people accountable.

Mac has done his job better than Bowles has done his job

Mac didn't hire Bowles. Let Mac hire his damn coach. Mac is a good GM. He's no worse than average. But he was saddled with a naive owner for a few years (Woody) and an awful coach (Bowles)
