While we are going with the youth movement and building for the future it seems evident to me after the last two games that we should have spent more money in free agency to address our offensive line and our pass rush. Sam Darnold could be the future but trading away those second rounders left us with holes that we failed to compensate for in free agency. I would prefer not to see our golden boy go the way of David Carr.
Can’t see any way that this isn’t a thorough ass-kicking. I’m sure Bowles will find that “inexcusable,” and will react by doing absolutely nothing.
they need the TEs to step up need double TE sets to chip and release to slow down the pass rush..... or just run offtackle, offtackle, WR screen, Punt again, what do i know?
I can see this game getting ugly fast with Jacksonville's D getting into Darnold's face and forcing a few turnovers while our offense struggles to move the ball. Then again, maybe this team surprises everyone and manages to dominate the Jags. I can accept losing because we have inferior talent. But, if the players are unprepared and commit stupid penalties, it'll be further proof that Bowles needs to go.
1-3 here we come. I'm interested to see who on this schedule the Jets will actually beat. Maybe the Bills? Season is shaping up to a 3-13 type season unless the Jets can luck out a few victories and repeat 5-11.
I'd say they have a chance against teams like the Colts, Bears, Titans, Texans. It's still too early to know how those teams are going to end up looking by the time the Jets play them (although Colts & Bears are both October).
Ok, Texans could be a win, mostly because the Titans just beat them with pretty much their 2nd team offense, although it did take a fake punt TD to do it.
Why don't we all pitch in and rent a big boat and make it a board shin-dig? After last night, let's just hope it's named the Orca and we all get eaten by Jaws. At least we'll go out having fun!
This Sunday's game against the Giants will tell you a lot about the Texans. If they lose at home to a team as bad as the Giants the Jets might have a shot at beating them at MetLife (of course who really knows - by December injuries will make these teams look very different). If Luck is really back I think the Colts win, and I think their only hope against the Bears is if Trubisky really is as bad as he's looked. No idea about the Titans - it's beginning to look like Mariota peaked in 2016, and by December he may be a lame duck QB or even sitting. It looks like the Jets need to hope that Allen continues to look overmatched if they want to get to 5 wins.
Sorry buddy, but if Bill Bellicheat and Brady had a difficult time with Jags pass rush, I don’t see Kaci Rodgers, Bowles and Bates doing any better. Jags pass rush is only getting better as those young studs drafted by Caldwell gain experience.
Sam is getting some good experience playing all these tough defenses to start his career. Jaguars-52 Jets-3.
At the very least, he's getting a lesson on how to deal with the NY Media after bad losses. He's also learning what it feels like to get hit after a pass too.
Yep. No fun. He also must be noticing most of his team around him sucks. I said it before, but McCown really did carry the team several games last year. He played well beyond how a normal QB plays and by far the best of his career, and the Jets still only won 5 games. So it was not going to be easy for Sam. I looked wrong Week 1, but now the Jets are showing themselves.
If you think last evening was bad just wait because they are going to kick our ass... and this coaching staff has no answers. I would be shocked - shocked - if they let Sam throw the ball beyond 1 yard screens... and MAC should be held accountable for the shitty OL as well...
This is exactly the type of game the Jets would win just to confuse the fuck out of everyone. Jets 27 Jaguars 10
