I agree the guy a capable back up more than capable and Winston has Not helped himself with his off the field problems .....8 Touchdowns and two games is very impressive if he continues to play well he deserves to start
I remember some Jets fans killing him because they said he couldn't get the ball to that bust Devin Smith. Something about his arm strength. Yet he had no problem getting the ball to Eric Decker, borderline future HOFer Brandon Marshall, future HOFer Deshaun Jackson. Next up for Fitzpatrick's Bucs Steelers @ home on MNF. If he does it again he'll be a early season league MVP favorite. *surprised*
Oh and if I were in Winston's shoes I'd start getting cozy with the fact I'll be warming benches around the league for the rest of the season. There's no way the HC there could go back to him now without risking losing that team. If he does he deserves to lose his job.
Whatever happens, Fitzpatrick gave us a great season which was completely unexpected and I'll always like him for that. Those few games where he seemed to be lighting a fuse under the whole team, the crazy sideline interviews, the rapport he had with Mangold, the touch of insanity he played with, were all so entertaining. I took my boys to see the Jets play at Wembley and he pulled out a win. I wish it could've lasted, but there you go.
Ok ok.. First, it's *Desean. And Second, him, and Marshall are not even remotely close to being in the hall of fame. Not even close.
That's absolutely correct. They've both had very productive careers. It also is becoming a very lopsided pass heavy league in the last decade, so their career numbers compared to receivers of yesteryears will be a little inflated. I looked it up, and their ranks for all time yards are higher than I anticipated, but I still don't see either guy ever making a legitimate case for the HOF imo.
If Tampa Bay's HC goes back to Winston he should be fired on the spot. For goodness sake Fitzpatrick is in the early season discussion for league MVP!
