Here we go again. Its Excuse Monday in Jetland and time for all good Jet fans to come up with their best excuses why the Jets en masse were a no-show yesterday. I'm looking forward to all the creative excuses I'm sure that are floating around out there as it couldn't possibly be the team itself. Fire Away!!
Pryor is a bitch, but you can't teach height and speed! Play before halftime the Herndon play, Pryor didn't even try to block and help out his fellow teammate. He's an awful teammate, if Josh Gordon wasn't such an asshole, I would cut Pryor for Gordon right now.
Is pointing out areas where they could have been better making excuses? That seems silly, but I'll take a shot 1. Skrine - Penalized and got beat bad on the same drive. Basically gave up a TD on his own. 2. Herndon- Dropped a pass that hit him the numbers. And the times he did catch it, he didnt go out of bounds and couldnt score. 3. Pryor- Didnt help block on Herndon's fumble, and didnt even attempt to disrupt Darnolds INT in the endzone. 4. Anderson- Fumble Execution by the players was at an all time low. Very similar to last weeks game, except the Jets were on the wrong side of it. Things like this will happen to young, mediocre teams.
Heck I liked Gholston more than Skrine at least he didn't cost us games he just sat on the sidelines ...
All of these were big moments in that game. The Oline is exactly what we thought it was in the offseason. Against one of the worst Dlines in the league in Detroit they looked good. Against a monster of a pass rush in Miami they looked terrible. They are a below average group and only Shell is a long term starter at the position. The Left side really needs help. The defense did not play great by any means, but they were less at fault this game than the offensive play calling and execution. I can't believe at this level players are still not holding the edge on the option. Jenkins was a fault for a ton of Miami's rushing yards because he did not hold contain on Tannehill.
None. Rookie QB who is 21 years old surrounded by a much younger inexperienced roster. I understand the jump to judgment after the first game, but most of us knew we would come back down to reality. I still think we are a very good football team and Sam Darnold showed A LOT yesterday. But if anyone actually thought we wouldn't have games like this throughout the year, you are delusional. We have the youngest QB to ever start in the NFL. We have new offensive weapons that are learning to gel with him and he is in a pro offense with a new offensive coordinator. Growing pains are expected. And even with those growing pains, he threw for 335 yards and a TD against a very good Miami defense with a very good secondary and pass rush. A lot of things to look forward to with this team. Time to move on to Cleveland on Thursday night!
@Falco21 love the optimism but until we get a true #1 receiver a good OL and pass rush we will always be avg
Offensive line needs to be addressed this off-season. We have a very good Corp of receivers. And did you expect this team to be great in Darnolds rookie year? Average is a good sign. Now we finish off the pieces in the off-season. 2019 has been a year many on here have been saying we would start our run into the playoffs. I still hold true to that year. Could we possibly sneak in this year? Yes, it's very possible. But 2019 seems to be the year it all begins
Bowles what an idiot 3rd and 19 blitz the house leave the middle of the field wide open. If you played a 3 or 4 man rush and sat back he would have thrown a short safe pass and they would have punted, what an idiot!
- Back-to-back false starts - Pryor looks exactly like a QB converted WR - The moment was too big for Herndon - The left side of the O-line is a liability - Crowell was running on banana peels - Over pursuit by all LBs - And no game would be complete without a Buster Skrine holding penalty
I expected 6 wins and I doubt we win more than that as we have a tough sched with tons of pass rushers ...
