I kind of laughed and said, “Of course. Jets.” After I took a deep breath, I said, “Alright. No problem. You got that out of your system. Now go back out there, and stop effing around.”
I thought..."Hey, if he has the same career as Favre after the first throw, Jests fans will take that."
I kind of laughed, you know things started out swimmingly for Nagle and Sanchez and Smith. And it all went to hell. So let this start like hell and it's only up from here.
I'm a big Jeopardy fan and there was a schedule conflict last night. Got permission from the wife to skip Jeopardy and watch the Jets. However, at 7 PM they were doing all the pregame B.S. so I switched back to Jeopardy thinking the game probably won't start until 7:30. Around 7:15, I decided to check back at the game and was surprised to see the Lions kicking off to the Jets. Sorry honey, the game is starting. Wait a minute! Why is the scoreboard showing Lions-7? Clock is showing 14:07 WTF!!!! What did I miss? SOJ? Found out a few minutes later what really happened and thought could this guy be another Geno? Kudos to all the Jets and CS for staying focused and righting the ship.
Jests? Really? As a fin fan I don't expect you to like Jets but at least try to respect the fans if you sign up to discuss football with them.
Oh c'mon I mean no disrespect. It's all in...jest. That's like me getting mad at an opposing fan on a finheaven post who says fish.
Well, you have been reported multiple times on this thing. Please reconsider again. That said, you are welcome to stay as a fin fan and you can hate the Jets all you want, but please don't disrespect Jet fans on this board.
OK, point taken. I don't hate the Jets my father is actually a Jets fan and we live in the area. I really didn't think I ever said anything offensive. I know some people take their fandom a little too seriously but I do it all in fun. I will be very mindful of what I say from now on.
My brothers and nephew freak out. “Ugh. Same old Jets” I actually thought : This is AWESOME. Someday, someone will use this as a lesson: “So you had a bad game. So what? Why even Sam Darnold threw a pick six on his very first play, and look what a great career HE had!” Never had a doubt he would bounce back, and it was good he got it out of his system.
My 1st thought was.. of course it's the Jets, we are cursed. Then I had visions of the Jets fumbling away the opening kick-off years ago (Justin Miller I believe). Then I saw the replay and shouted WTF is Bates doing with such a shitty play call for the 1st play of the kids career. Then I thought the Lions aren't very good, if we can score and hold them a few series we'll be okay.
I actually think it's a measure of the confidence they have in Sam that they gave him that play to start, and judging by his reaction to the mistake, their faith is well-placed.
I agree that it was probably a measure of the confidence that they have in Sam, but as another poster pointed out, it was a dumb play call. First play of the game, we haven't rushed the ball yet, and Bates is calling a play action pass to throw the ball back across the field? It's great that they have a lot of confidence in Sam, as they should have, but I still think it was a stupid play call for first play of the game.
Thought it was funny, but strangely calm and not mad or upset at all. I was looking forward to what Sam was going to do next drive.
I threw up a "SOJ" post on FB to piss people off..lol But in reality I was ok kid..this is exactly what we need to see is how you react to this..
