Hackenberg thought he was being signed by the Kegels. He was ecstatic, at the time, he’d been working on that for a while.
Don't worry. Hackenberg will go to a QB guru in the off-season and overhaul his hand-off motion. He made a nice tackle after one of his interceptions. Maybe he's more valuable as a special teamer than as a QB.
He almost caused another fumble, later on it looked like he started to hand off, then tried to pull the ball back, then shoved it back in and the RB bobbled it a bit. But that was a hard tackle, gotta give him that.
If Hackenberg overhauls the throwing motion that he just overhauled, he could be invited to a 2019 NFL Training Camp!
And, now, so fucking gone. He just got cut. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/08/31/eagles-cut-christian-hackenberg/#comments
Incredible, he went from the "best" HS QB in the nation to an overhyped freshman to an awful excuse laden crappy college QB for 2 years to a massive reach draft pick to never having taken a real snap in the NFL.
At least Hackenberg got his revenge on the Jets. He was so bad they had to put Callahan back in and he won the game for them.
Earned $2.7M in 2 years, wouldn't be surprised if he got a couple of small endorsements to get that up to about $2.8M. Hell for that much money I'll let the whole nation laugh at me.
The CFL is a pipe dream for this guy - he's far worse than Johnny Football, who was benched after two starts for the worst team in the league. I wonder if he'll try the AAF, although why they would want him I can't imagine (with no franchise closer to the northeast than Memphis there's no "local hero" aspect for him).
