With Darnold all you have to worry about is he won't be a good QB. With Rosen you have to worry that he won't be a good QB and that he'll bust himself out of the NFL due to injury and/or attitude. So it's Darnold for me.
Ah you got me here actually. Rosen could very well have the highest ceiling due to IQ. For Darnold, I would say Andrew Luck with a touch of Rivers cause of the unorthodox throwing motion. For Rosen to get to Peyton, its going to be tough .... I would say Matt Ryan, but Peyton would be Rosen's ultimate ceiling. I think Peyton had a better arm however. Just a tad bit stronger.
I am off to see Avengers...I hope we are in a situation like this tonight and we get to choose the right guy Good luck Mac and my Jets...Enjoy the draft gang
There should be a list of all the self-styled TGG QB gurus who've shamelessly flip-flopped and bandwagon-jumped beginning on April 26th in addition to the most recent surge that came around "17-0" minutes past 11:00 last Friday night.....90% of whom did not follow the Pac-10 closely in 2017 (e.g. via a Pac-10 tv package) and whose 'scoreboard observations' went silent whenever Rosen either spit the bit or (as was the case in his 2nd consecutive year) sat out injured.. The post above says it all --- definitely signature worthy... .
So it appears I was wrong about Darnold. Big deal. So you've never been wrong? I haven't flip-flopped or wagon jumped. Since he's with the Jets, of course I'm gonna root for him and hope he works out. I'm still somewhat skeptical, but he has impressed me so far and looks like he will be great. You OTOH are petty and small, and your post is totally lacking in class, but I should expect as much from a homophobe that thinks green pants are gay. SMH
I have to reaffirm my position. I was all in for Rosen. Some of the points NC mentioned I absolutely agreed with regarding Darnold. Since then, he certainly cleaned up a lot of the mechanics and has demonstrated strong leadership. That being said, as high as I am on him, we still haven’t seen him in a real game and there’s no telling how he will pan out. But so far it looks like I can greatfully admit I was wrong!
Why was I quoted? I always wanted Darnold! Having said that, we had a fun off-season discussing all of the QB's. Rosen, Mayfield, Allen, even Jackson and Rudolph. Darnold was discussed the least, because many (including me) assumed he would be going #1 to the Browns. When he fell to the Jets, I don't think too many fans were upset. I think @NCJetsfan was a big Mayfield guy, if I remember. Nothing wrong with that, he went #1 overall. I wouldn't say any fan has flip-flopped though. I wanted Sam, but if the Jets had taken Mayfield or Rosen or Allen I would have been on board 100% and instantly supported them. That is what you do as a fan. Another thing: This was bumped too early for "I Told Ya So's" because they have only played 1 pre-season game. Who knows how any of their careers will end up? Nobody.
There is really some gold in this thread. I didn't realize this many people would actually favor Rosen. Great thrower but a statue in the pocket and a piss poor leader. Add that to the injury history and he was not anywhere near Sam IMO.
Yeah, I admit I preferred Rosen at the time, and for all we know he could still be the better QB down the road. Darnold has looked better so far, but 1 preseason game means jack squat.
I made a smirking comment about the TGG QB guru Rosen group think vis-a-vis the overall lack of those same folks who actually following the Pac-12 closely on a week to week basis.....and what happened? ......you got your pawh widdle fweelings huuurt and took it personal with the ad homs (boo hoo me-lol) so pleeese.....spare me. My post is "totally lacking in class?" Tell me all about it.....and while you're at it, .about green pants and homphobia.... .
To me and most, the idea of Darnold falling to 3 was a fantasy. He's an excellent QB prospect and the best thrower of the group. Yesterday he looked impressive. I dont think he's a piss poor leader necessarily, hes similar to Rodgers in terms of arrogance.
I didn't get to watch the Arizona game, but looking at the stats Rosen had a really good game, much better than the previous one and played many more snaps.
