In no particular order; The jets offensive line still stinks-- yes, I know 2 starters down, but what's the difference--they're all retreads. The jets have NO pass rush still, unless you count roughing the passer (and they intend on starting a special teamer at OLB) Darron Lee still stinks (in coverage and against the run)--let's man up and admit this Yep, hoping for a good season, but with these three reasons above, the jets will be lucky to get to 8-8.
I agree that this is no playoff team, but lets not go nuts because of 1 preseason game. We still have weaknesses on this roster, but at least we got our QB. At the very least this is the first time in awhile where I didnt think the we were at least 2 years from contending. I think we should be there in 2019.
yeah man you pretty much nailed it. i knew this was going to be the deal but still tired of seeing it on tv
I liked what I saw out of Shepherd tonight. A lot of people said he he'd have no shot to play coming from a small school and he was just here for depth but he looked like a guy who could start. He has good size too. I expect to see good things out of him in the coming years if he stays healthy.
You forgot the most important reality: Fans will over react to preseason games! Last week we were Super Bowl contenders , Today the sky is falling!
A few more realities the Monday night crew is dreadful ... my ears bled (if I see one more close up of booger hands I will puke) Jamel.
I do agree Mrs Lee is terrible I wish I had twitter so I could let him know ! he needs to shut up and show up (we all know won't happen)
2 what-should-be obvious "realities" 1) How is ANYONE really surprised how they look right now? If you've been paying attention, Their deficiencies are right on par on what most think they should be 2) A pre-season game with 2 teams that have been practicing against each other all week is guaranteed vanilla snoozefest
Yes, but those here that look at the glass always half empty, it's really futile. It's ludicrous to argue with them that the positives are there to see but the negative blinders are being worn to mask that all out.
People see the positive, they just tend to post negative, (myself included) its a trend in the world today, as it gets more attention and response.
Anyone who’s been a “glass half empty” Jets fan has, historically speaking, been proven to be correct. There is hope now in the form of Darnold. Everyone gets that, but it won’t necessarily translate to a successful campaign this season. They’re knocking on the door of tying their second worst playoff drought of all time.
I didn't think the Jets played well yesterday, but as I was arguing with my wife, the fact that they have been on the road for a week has to play into their comfort level a bit. Road games are hard enough during the season, but if you had to travel a week prior to the game and practice like hell, any road team would be wiped out. I thought our starting defense (and defense in general) played tired.
We were vanilla on offense. We were vanilla on defense. We played that way, looked that way. It was a pretty typical, 2nd preseason snooze fest.
