Really don’t know how these guys do it. I feel like if I had that wobbly feeling after any play where my friggin brain was rattled I would be like “Peace out football.” Money is such a poweful thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don’t think it’s JUST money I was an animal at all times in all sports (not to be confused with talented) and as you can see by my posts I probably had some brain trauma. And I didn’t make a penny!
Back in the day they just said “boy you got your Bell ring huh?” They gave you some water and you went back in there. It didn’t seem like you were playing with a concussion. It seemed like part of the game Bell rung? WTF is that colloquialism anyway
I don't know how. I suffered my first and only concussion when I was 15. In H.S. Got hit in the back of the head with a baseball after school. I heard my brain rattle against my skull for what felt like 15 seconds. It wouldn't stop. I started to walk home and ended up walking 2-3 miles the opposite way until i realized. The rest of the school week is still a fog to me I don't even remember any of it there afterwards. My mom worked at a clinic and I never told her because now thinking back at only 15 I don't even think I knew what a concussion really was, or felt like.
I was and twelve, ice skating, stepped on a cone, and next thing I remember I was in a training room screaming crying my eyes out. I still have a lump on the back of my head where it hit the ice 30-plus years ago. I also think it made my vision go bad. First and hopefully last concussion. These nflers are incredibly hard.
I thought the NFL had upgraded the helmets for this season. Supposedly more padding and so on.. Guess its back to the drawing board.
All the padding in the world won’t stop the brain from hitting the skull when the head stops suddenly.
Dont know how much help a helmet better helmet can do for a player. Their helmets are already protective and no headgear is going to stop the whiplash when your head is snapped back from a hit to the head or when your head slams into the turf.
dude if I was an RB I would throw the ball straight up in the air as soon as the first would-be-tackler came within 7 yards of me
The problem is not the helmets. Players on both sides of the ball need to adjust their angles and not lead with their helmets. But it will take some time for that to change. A player in the league today is committed to a certain style of play, and not a lot will be able to readily move off that.
He didn't travel to Skins practice because of a concussion. My guess is he is done until regular season.
