I believe in Darnold, too. I hope he wins the Jets‘ job. Meanwhile, Tom Brady is the greatest of all time. And Tannehill is a guy. Darnold is a better prospect than Wentz. Josh Allen could be great, but he has a lot of stuff to fix with his game. Darnold looked a lot more ready to start than Josh Allen did this week imo.
Allen showed his ceiling physically in his first preseason game.Big time arm,towering size & surprisingly mobile when leaving the pocket. That said he didnt show anywhere near the command of Mayfield or Darnold & didnt go through much if any progressions..it was pretty much all 1 read. Id say he showed fantastic upside but hes not as refined in many aspects as Darnold & he doesnt have anywhere near the ball placement
But, but, but... I bet Allen could throw a ball 60 yards from his knees! That makes him better and will guarantee success.
Big armed, talentless QBs bored me after Browning Nagles run here. He had as big an arm and turned into nothing close to being a NFL QB.

Somewhat overlooked is that Darnold went to the same receiver 3 times in a row in the red zone, even after 2 failures. That’s gotta mean something to the guy, and it’s the kind of relationship building that creates a legitimate team environment.
