For the Cro debate, I like him as a Jet. Corners are a lot like offensive linemen, if they do their job right you don’t hear their name often. Cro had the hardest #2 corner job in the NFL because no one was throwing at Revis. He was by no means a technician but was simply one of the most physically gifted athletes in the NFL in his prime. The Jets were blessed with him and Revis at corner in those years.
So the Giants are the all mighty gods of football and can never do any wrong, or make any draft mistake?
Or maybe the Giants didn't want to hit the restart button just yet and wanted to give it one last run with Eli? Quality hot take as per usual.
That doesn't mean a thing. First of all the Giants are in a win now mode for whatever reason. They went in the RB direction......Second of all who says the Giants are the authority on QB studs ? And in that case why did the Browns pass on Darnold ? Regardless I agree we should all see how Darnold plays in an actual game before getting our hopes too high........
Exactly.....as of now I'd have to say Barkley is the best offensive skill player ready to go....they are in a win now mode with Eli, Beckham , and now Barkley. However a few years down the road they may be kicking themselves if they don't find a suitable replacement for Eli while Darnold is lighting it up across town....
Eli Manning is 37 and has one of (if not) the very best wide receiver within the game today in Odell Beckham Jr. So maybe, just maybe it has nothing to do with Sam Darnold and everything to do with wanting one last run with Manning, Saquon & Beckham. Sometimes for a Franchise, owner, GM, head coach, offensive coordinator and fan base etc sometimes it's just not easy to walk away from a 2x Super Bowl winning Quarterback... Before giving it one last 2-3 year run. So I'm simply guessing that they felt that a trio of Manning/Barkley/Odell could give them a better chance at one last run over a trio of Manning/Darnold/Odell. No one ever confused the Giants for the Steelers in terms of a Franchise who "lets their players go at the right time". And Cleveland's opinion or passing on Sam #1 overall doesn't count. Holds no weight. Have you not seen their 1st round picks over the years? They've been worse than NYJ's dreadful 2nd round picks (outside of Marcus Maye) so if anything I'd say they've got a 99% chance of getting their pick wrong and I'm happy they took Baker Mayfield and left Darnold alone.
So you base talent and the draft evaluation on who the Browns and Giants picked . They're your barometer to set expectations? Lol, that's as bad as it gets. That's utterly the worst reason to pump the brakes. Then again some fans would pump the breaks after we won the SB.
Darnold could become a top 5 QB and a perennial MVP candidate and the brakes will still have to be pumped. Some people are just never satisfied.
