Doesn’t figure to be too much of a factor. He’s buried way down on a good WR depth chart. Hansen, picked a round later, has seemed to be the better pick from day 1.
I mean it’s only 2 games, so if you believe in him like that I don’t see why this would change that. I just don’t believe in the player in general.

Too bad for Stewart, but not that big of a deal. The Jets WR Group is interesting. -Anderson -Enunwa -Kearse -Pryor -Hansen -Stewart -Roberts -Johnson -Whitehead and 9 others I can't remember right now. So they have decent depth, but nothing spectacular at the top. If Pryor can get back to form and Anderson focuses on football, plus Enunwa stays healthy, Kearse stays serviceable, and one of the young guys steps up, it actually is a good WR corp. Just a lot of If's.
I had hope for him too, that he could rise amid a good wr group and be a factor for them. Dude prolly set himself back now while looking for an edge. Not good.
I'll take a different view on this as I believe Stewart was a lock for the 53 man roster and this actually gives the Jets a 2 week preview for another position. The other position that immediately comes to mind is punt returner. In place of Stewart the Jets get to keep Roberts or Whitehead who can return punts if Cannon isn't up to it. If after 2 weeks Cannon proves he can do it you can get rid of Roberts or Whitehead. If he isn' t ready then maybe Cannon gets chopped and goes to the practice squad.
I think as a vet of you are in the roster for the first game of the season your contract becomes fully guaranteed for that season. Kind of why some guys hanging around don’t get signed until week 2. Pretty sure but I could be wrong.
The NFL policy , (as with most things NFL) related makes little sense. If you test positivefor PEDs you get 4 games. If you test positive for a masking agent used to hide the PEDs you get 2 games. If you test positive for something that is not banned but can't be identified, it's 4 games. So if you cheat to gain a competitive edge, and then cheat again to beat the test. Your rewarded a reduced suspension.
