Robby became everything Devin was supposed to be. We have no need for him. I hope he can get his career back on track elsewhere.

Shame he didn't work out, but the constant injuries seriously derailed him. I remember the buzz surrounding him early on in camp and practices, but nothing came to fruition. With a crowded WR room, he was a shoe out.

Hope he lands somewhere else and is able to stay healthy

Dude was always hurt. What a surprise! Another wasted 2nd rounder.

I do recall he had one touchdown for us that, upon review, could have been overturned.

Mac paring it down to 1,593 wide outs before camp? Risky move

Yeah, but the final roster cuts are coming so . . . Smith was taken way too high we know this, but being the victim of bad luck doesn't make you a bum. Not that you said that or implied it, but I see that sentiment all the time. See Ki-jana Carter. No wait, don't. The only thing wrong about his career was the way stupid overpaying. The Jets didn't overpay Devin Smith IMO so it's a wash. I wish him luck, but you know Belicheat is on the horn.

No team can keep someone on the roster who is constantly injured and unavailable to play. Its bad luck for Devin but it seemed inevitable that this would happen, especially now we have so many Wide Receivers in camp.

Good Luck to him, but I fear his days in the NFL may well be over.

If Smith is smart, he takes the injury settlement and puts whatever degree he got from OSU to work for him. He's young now but that knee has to hold up for the better part of the rest of his life sooo, why risk a walking stick or a cane by age 40 by ever suiting up again for full contact football. It makes no sense unless his ego is as big as the universe.

You wanted Beasley over Leonard Williams. I thought you were wrong then but I now see you were right. You know football and you should post more.

I think most thought he'd been cut long ago.

Brook, I wouldn't put that in stone just yet. Beasley is overrated IMO by his sack total his 2nd year, and had a down year with more responsibility last year. Jets have not done a good job building a front 7 around Williams.

technically he was. we waived him as an injured player and since nobody claimed him he goes back to our roster because you can't cut an injured player without an injury settlement

    101. You know football way more than me. So I won't go against you. But I still wish we picked Beasley over Williams.

Wish we got the Smith that was drafted right after him

Still, feel for the kid. Maybe he could've been a solid deep threat. Just plain bad luck. I don't think he ever missed a game in college.

Wonder if he'll ever regain the speed he once had. Probably not

He never had huge reception totals but senior year at Ohio State. 931 yards on only 33 catches and 12 TD's is insane. He was a pure weapon.

Maybe Smith and Hack can start their own team, "Maccagnan's Misfits."

If we took Beasley over Williams we would be killing Mac for it. Williams will be the type of player that improves the whole defense with what he brings. Beasley puts up nice stats under the right circumstances.
