Has anyone seen how the new Ninja Turtles look? Just horrendous.

Almost unrecognizable from the actual ones we grew up with.

Batman the Animated Series set the tone for films and comics for decades to come IMO. It was a very emotional show, that had some really hard hitting moments, IMO far more emotional then any comic book movie so far. I still remember the Clayface episodes to this day. It ages really well. X-Men taught me as a kid about diversity and especially discrimination (Magneto). Source material was as accurate as it came.

Thanks for the early bday wishes as well TDK!

I loved Magilla Gorilla. How much is that gorilla in the window? Birdseed to Miss Milksop, milk to Miss Birdseed.

Don't you just love when people get obscure references?

I'm glad that my 'hairdoo' reference in the SAM thread inspired this. Bugs Bunny is King. Not the other characters, Bugs Bunny. Forgive some of the of the horrid racism in an episode or three, it was a product of its time, but it wasn't any worse than the shit that Walt Disney was doing that gets swept under the rug. Not making excuses for it on any level, but Bugs Bunny was incendiary on so may levels. During World War II and Hitler yelling during war time, wow.

It was 1000000% adult humor. What a Leonardo DaPunchy. What a Toolousy LaTrec. What an ultra-maroon. I'll never even be able to begin about the episodes that slay me. One of my favorites is 'Hurdy Gury Hare'.

    Great Bugs link. https://www.b98.tv/?s=bugs+bunny&search=Search

    You're welcome.

"Eh, what's up doc?" Bugs was boss.

Merry Melodies-Looney Tunes - far and away the best.

An unknown oddball cartoon that ran under the radar was "Krazy Kat & Ignatz." The warped premise had Ignatz the mouse always looking to hit Krazy Kat with a brick, which Krazy interpreted as love...."L'il ainjil," Krazy Kat would swoon in a love-struck daze whenever Ignatz blasted her with a brick to the head. It was simple and utterly insane and it shouldn't have worked, but it did.

Yep. My favorite episode was probably The Gray Ghost. Adam West played him. It was a really well done episode. All of The Joker episodes were great too.

Yogi Bear, Rocky & Bullwinkle (with Boris Badenov and Natasha), Underdog, Popeye (the old b & w ones). joe already mentioned 'Krazy Kat & Ignatz). Great comic strip, great cartoon. I'm gonna say it again, Bugs is King. Baby faced Finster: *click*! "How many times have I told you not to play with the dirty money!" "Oh, I do believe I've forgotten my fudge!" Check out the Bugs link I posted earlier in the thread. There are some gems in there. "HOBOKEN?! Ooooo, I'm dyin' again!"

'The Apes of Wrath', "Easy there, Gruesome." Haha, there are just too many to list.

EDIT & P.S.: Ooops, I see Rocky & Bullwinkle & Underdog were already mentioned. Who can forget the original 'Speed Racer'? The quality was awful and the dubbing was worse than Godzilla movies.

The dubbing is what we used to laugh over. And that stupid chimp, Chim Chim or whatever his name was, whenever he would make noises it NEVER matched his mouth timing-wise. We really didn't care about the cartoon. It actually kind of sucked, but it was insanely popular. We would watch it just to say things like, "Mothra!" "Rhodan!" "Godzilla!" whenever they were talking and then kept our mouths moving with no words coming out. As to everyone on here who used to watch 'The 4:30 Movie' or the Japanese monsters fests, you know who you are and you know you did the same. Admit it.

Duck Tales was mentioned, but no Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Tail Spin or Gummi Bears! That was a classic lineup!

I wish Netflix or anyone showed the classic Looney Tunes. I know my boys would love it, as physical humor is a favorite of theirs.

Dierking didn't forget. ; ) I loved it as well, and of course I got his Mr. Horse reference. The very first episode, the second episode ('The Big Shot!), 'Fire Dogs', and 'Space Madness' are classics. It went downhill after Krisfalusi left/was edged out/fired over creative differences. Yep, the early ones were gems, and I read the below with great sadness and utter disgust a few months ago. Yuck.

BTW, this show actually had the best theme song ... such disrespect on my end. They tried remaking the show too, and it was a fucking slap to the face
