Blake was pretty damn solid between 1994-1997. Nothing elite and not terribly accurate but a good playmaker. Did an ok job trying to carry a bad Bengals team coached by idiot Shula. Surely better than the crud we were trotting out.
The whole Coles/ Moss situation totally pissed me off back then. First we had Coles and Moss then Coles leaves for Wash then we trade Moss to Wash to get Coles back from Wash. Wtf.
The FO/CS really didnt know what they wanted. Moss kept having ankle issues and didnt really pan out as a KR/PR guy. Coles I guess wasnt worth the cash in their opinion. Then they changed thier minds. Coles had a decent run with Farve though brief as it was.
Guess I'm old but that one person named the only Jet to go elsewhere and have a Hall of Fame career says just that. John Riggins in a cake walk. No one comes close.
Definitely *not* Snacks. Has anyone noticed this guy has turned into a lunatic? He was a really nice, down to earth guy when he was here but he’s turning into an asshole quickly. On twitter, with reporters, and now he almost kills the new Giants rookie.
Scuffles in camp happen to every team and are overblown nonstories. But swinging a helmet at a guy’s Unprotected head? Are you serious?
Apparently that guy Hernandez has been acting like kind of an asshole in the practices. Getting into a bunch of scuffles. Bart Scott was mocking him the other day on the FAN, said he appears to be one of those tough guys with no pads and no hitting, said as a rookie he’s going to be targeted once real practice starts. He said some guys go hard all the time, but being a jackass in OTAs or mini-camp when no one can really touch you, especially as a rook is frowned upon by the vets. I’m not blaming Snacks on this one.
Surprising that only one person would name the only HOF ex-Jet. . Not surprising who that person was though. . .

With Pennington at QB, Coles as WR made more sense. No point in having a deep ball threat like Moss if you can't throw a deep ball. Besides, Pennington and Coles had developed a chemistry which didn't seem to happen with Pennington and Moss.
Look Chad was my favorite Jet during that era and Lav was my second favorite but Moss was an incredible player in his own right and wasn’t JUST a deep threat. Swapping them back and forth just passed me off. Btw, I was in Washington in business for Coles first game- it was against the Jets, either a Sunday or Monday night game and we lost and I felt like we were cursed once again.
I suppose right now in 2018 it’s Snacks. He was overpaid as a nose tackle when he hit free agency, but was super underrated part of our d-line. Our rosters over the past 5 years have been so devoid of talent (though that’s changing) I can’t even think of anyone who is a close second. Perhaps if Demario Davis has a repeat year or Mo/ Sheldon stop sucking it will be one of them.
Never said Moss was only a deep threat receiver. He had a great career in Washington. However, at the time of the swap, Moss was coming off a poor production season and Coles was perceived to be the better short and intermediate receiver which was Pennington's strength. I understand the logic behind the swap, but Coles should never have been allowed to walk in the first place.
Yeah, it is really surprising to see Snacks do that. He's usually more professional than that. It's one thing to play really hard and get into a scuffle, but that's taking it a bit too far.
Riggins was awesome. A real drinker too. I read he got invited to some upper crust party and was sat at the same table as supreme court justice Sandra Day O'conner. Riggins got rude, drunk, and passed out on the floor under the table. bahahahaa!!! And that noodle arm Favre was pretty good too, but more-so before he got here.
