I loved Upshaw coming out of college. I remember specifically saying out loud to a friend when he fell to Baltimore in the 2nd "why the fuck do the Ravens always have this shit happen to them?" Hopefully he can give us a little of what we thought he'd give the Ravens. Chris Jones, we hardly knew ye.

Jets had great depth at LB years back, he's not a LB but I no way I have an issue with this. Because I'm freaking old, I was all Gene Upshaw what?
He does have T-Rex arms though. But I like this a lot great depth, weird I never got an alert about this signing.

Is he a great pass rusher?No way.Can he collapse the pocket & occassionally get to the QB?If hes healthy no doubt. The outside pass rush may actually be a pleasant surprise. While none of the names strike fear or consistency they can all collapse a pocket or bend the edge at the very least. That creates space for Leo & Blitzers.
I like this. I'm pretty sure Upshaw came out the same year as Coples, and I was thinking about the Jets potentially drafting him. Hopefully he can find his game.
I think Martin and Jenkins are locks to make the team. Upshaw was actually a try out player for the Jets during camp, and will have an uphill climb to make the roster. Will be competing with Bass, Copeland, Donahue, and Mauldin for only 2 spots.
