ok guys 8 horse field,,,,,what do you got ? Hard to bet against Justify after that last performance . The track looks to be WET again,,,,,Im looking at the favorite and 3 others right now,,trying to narrow it down to 3 horses instead of 4. Im leaning towards Justify ,Lone Sailor and Diamond King and throwing out Bravazo
I have no clue which horse to bet and I am still licking my wounds from getting destroyed at the Derby but I think it would be a smart bet to do an exacta box with Justify and a long(er) shot.
only problem with that Browning is it will pay very little,,,you have to hope that the long shot actually beats Justify for it to pay something. I might just wing it with triple boxes and superfecta boxes myself
Being Justify is such a big favorite I am keying somewhat of long shots in my first 2 spots over the rest of the field including Justify. Lone Sailor and Bravazo, so 2/8, 2/8 over 1,3,4,5,6,7 I believe it is only a $12 bet on a $1 Tri, would rather lose $12 taking a chance on a long shot over spending the same $12 on a favorite to maybe win $15
I'm worried about a lack of pay out for Trifectas and Superfectas. That is how I play. Go big or go home. If Justify wins, and only 7 other horses running, it would make those payouts not too impressive. How do I handle that, @CBG?
TDK ,Heres how I look at it you can bet $100 on Justify to win andget back $50 or less if he wins or you can exacta him with Good Magic with a similar payout = not much. Or------> you can roll the dice and bet a few Triple boxes ( same for the superfecta ) and hope you get it right, if Justify wins it will still pay out , so long as you have the correct tribox or superfecta box and if somehow some one beats Justify the payout will be better and Bigger. Now let me know if you have the horses to put in my damn boxes so I can win also , lol

I might Throw $ome fazool$ on Lone Sailor to show as I think he had a terrible trip in the derby and also lost a damn shoe and still managed to finish 8th

Well I'm not driving an hour each way to place a bet so I will either save $12 or miss out on a hundred or so. No OTB's in Florida.
As much as it pains me to say it, not sure there is any money to be made today. Justify is head and shoulders above this field. The way I see it there are only two possible plays: 1.) Completely throw Justify out of your exactas and trifectas and hope that maybe the foot injury is worse than Baffert has let on. This is the high risk/high reward route and basically should be looked at like buying a lottery ticket. Or 2.) $200 to win on the #7 and just be content with winning dinner.
Harris there is always money to be LOST or WON lol,,,,,I just can't see throwing Justify out of any exotic bets .
You are correct FJay a longer race he loses , the 8 was coming and Audible would have beaten him had the Derby been longer,,but Props to Justify, a good win,,,,ps this triple and superfecta will pay off nice 7-8-6-5
