They are now down from 100 down to like 60 & so far the players who are the ones voting on this have not yet picked 1 NYJ to be on the list. I wonder if that means the talent on the team at least in that group has zero talent to make the list
With 22 positions on the field we might expect roughly 5 at each position (of course that's not right, but at least gives us a guideline). There isn't a single Jets player that I would say was in the top 5 at his position in NFL history, so I would be shocked if a Jet appears on this list. Further, with 32 teams in the league, several of which having long-term success, I would bet that more than half of the teams have 2 or fewer representatives. So who cares? I think Lawrence Taylor is the only guy on the Giants assured of being on that list (and he should clearly be in the top ten), although I suppose some might consider Michael Strahan (I wouldn't). So who cares?
Top ten for sure, but I think top five is borderline. So, I guess he could have had a chance to make the top 100, but if he wasn't in numbers 61-100 I'd be surprised if he was in the top 60. But I have to admit that if players are voting for this recency bias gives him a better chance than I originally thought.
I believe it's the top 100 of 2017. No one in that 2017 team stood out at all. It's a wonder we got the wins we did.
Don't beat yourself up about it - it's barely English, after all. Opinion is divided on Champ. A few posters on here believe he deserves respect just for being old. A few think he is actually crazy and enjoy listening to him rant every time something rattles his cage. Then there's a group that thinks he is just a troll who's been playing us for years and isn't really an old guy at all. I don't really know what to think. I do know there has been a marked change in Champ's posts over the years. He's always been a darksider, but he used to make a little more sense than he does now. I think he is tolerated for comic relief, but the act gets tired quickly. For what it's worth, I find it helps if you read his posts in a Grampa Simpson voice, and imagine that he's started each post with 'In my day...'
