@statjeff22 All four choices are worthy of this title. That said, I don't think I've ever seen a @statjeff22 post that was illogical or unreasonable, or even far fetched for that matter. A professor of statistics, I know that logic is a strength of his. Gun to my head, I'd trust the fate of the team with him.
I have no expectations here and am truly honored to have been mentioned with some people who have hardcore football knowledge (certainly more than mine). The best I'd say for myself is some strength in the "voice of reason" category, which is, as @xxedge72x alluded to, definitely an occupational hazard of doing statistics for more than 40 years.
I think any of these would do better than the GMs the Jets have had to suffer through over the years. @Br4d gets my vote-- I regularly read his posts and wish he was running this club.
It wasn't an easy decision, but @Br4d is my choice. He provides tremendous insight on drafting, the cap, how splurging in FA can be crippling, how 30 is the age when players(not just RB's) typically decline. He has all the makings of someone who knows how to build a roster.
statjeff22. Because he's nice, respectful, super smart, and does crazy Math things. He would put Tannenbaum to shame, and could probably work a mean salary cap.
Man oh man....going to wait on this one. This board....well....its loaded with great posters. THIS is a tough one. I mean...staff? BR4D? 101, NCJET? Thats the best selection of posters since they started doing this years ago.
NCJetsfan gets my vote. His eloquent, passionate (maybe sometimes a little too passionate, LOL) postings expounding on the Jets past QB failures and the requirement that the organization must address this deficiency before the team can be put back on the path to a championship, align with my point of view. He is the GM I want. My congratulations to all four worthy finalists.
