Playing McNown over Petty cost us three second round draft picks.

    See ya!

Nearly gone from the deadbeat qbs from the 2010-2016 period.

Sorry Bryce, you lost a lot of fans after your comments about practising facing defenses on Madden.

The most interesting thing about that clip was what was not said. Fifty to sixty sessions with a throwing coach and not even a whiff that any progress was being made.

What does that have to do with who belongs on the field, who's earned it?

Back to the ridiculous idea that the Jets would tank the season. Oh wait, not tank, start a QB who won't win a game. This isn't basketball

Cmon man... I'm saying Petty would have lost 13 games easily..We could have been at 3 and possibly 2 without the trades. Macc could have replenished 3 positions with those picks.

Worked for the 76'ers.. They tanked for years and look at them now.

I'm good.. Glad the Kid is gone. He needed to get out of Florham Park right after the NE game. He should have had his truck loaded, tanked and parked outside the stadium. Set his GPS for Amarillo or Dallas, turned on his radar detector and rolled westbound. Maybe with a McDonald's stop on I-44 S outside Tulsa, OK.

We throw around this term "development" like its some mystical thing. A Coaches job is to coach. They are teachers of football. They teach technique, they help diagnose offense and defense of the other team, the teach our offense and defense to our team, and they are involved in the physical conditioning required to play the game. They can not control what a player does and how they react once they are in a game. Quarterback is by far the most mentally taxing position on the field. No amount of preparation will help if the player can not process what he's seeing in front of him in real time or deliver the ball accurately.

To me this is the same mind set of parents who's kids get bad grades and blame the teacher. If other students are thriving with the same input, this may be on the kid and the work they are putting into learning. It could also be a case of that child may just not be a great student with the tools to handle the material given. I don't know if Petty didn't put the work in of if he just lacked the tools to processes the game at NFL speeds, but I do know he is not a good NFL QB and I can't place a lot of the blame on a staff that got such good year from McCown with only one year working with him.

    Was MORE proof really necessary?

Guy couldn’t even get his helmet on right. Guess you can’t learn that through madden.

If McNown played 14-16 games last year I would be concerned that Petty was an unknown quantity that could potentially help one of our division rivals down the road.

Since we saw what he could do and he seemed to have regressed from his pre-injury form it is probably best that we move on.

I would still point out that he has a lower cap hit than Hackenberg and I am not sure he should have been the first one we kicked out the door.

Football isnt basketball. One player drafted isnt 1/5th of the starting lineup

Yes, the Colts. The one football team people want you to believe tanked. Because their QB went down, a QB who was the team

If Hack is placed on the PS, he will be claimed by someone. Even if he hasn't shown anything as of yet, some team will claim him with the hope that he could develop as a back up or 3rd stringer. IMO, jets will either cut Hack, or keep him on the 53 man roster as a 3rd stringer.
