I hope you and the other guy are right, perhaps I'm just being a skeptic lol. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
I would also be shocked if the Jets took Rosen. I wouldn't be upset, but I just don't see that happening.
One talking point I keep hearing on the radio concerning the Giants is that they wouldn't take Rosen or Mayfield because they don't fit the "Giants mold" of the squeaky clean hyper professional player. Like, for instance, Eli Manning, who they conveniently omit the fact that he too was arrested in college for public intoxication. Or, you know, Odell Beckham Jr, the very image of professionalism and selfless character. The whole idea that Rosen couldn't go there for that reason sounds like total horse shit to me.
The Mayfield camp recently told the shitbag Chargers and their soccer field stadium to buzz off. I feel Mayfields agent will soon launch some rumors stating that if Cleveland drafts him, he won't play for them.1
Actually what happened is that Mayfield showed up at the Chargers facility the other day and didn't go full-bore learning their playbook, basically saying: "I've got too much on my plate, sorry" so while it's not a good look, he wasn't falling to the Chargers anyway so in his defense why go through the motions.. .
Maybe all the baker reports are so teams don't trade in front of us for rosen with the giants thinking we will take baker and they can land rosen at 4 or 5 with a trade up
I agree that height isn't really a factor. He may occasionally have a pass knocked down, but his OL at OK were not exactly shrimps. They were big. Their starting OL were 6'8", 6'4", 6'1", 6'5", and 6'4". That's NFL size or darned close to it. He played in cold weather in Oklahoma and never had a fumbling problem or problems gripping the ball. I don't think he would in the NE, either, although it is something to consider.
IMO Gettleman is an awful GM, so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he passed on a QB and took Minkah Fitzpatrick, Chubb, or Nelson.
I love Mayfield, but that does show some immaturity imo. It would have been better imo to either thank them for their interest, apologize, and explain that your plate was just too full and cancel the visit, or at least let them know ahead of time that he wasn't gonna have much time to look at their playbook.
That's true, but it doesn't sound like it to me based on what he said. Still, I'm not trashing him. I want the Jets to draft Mayfield. He's a 23 year-old kid. He's not gonna be as mature as we are.
Yeah, that sounds like B.S. But the Jets are the exact opposite. We have felons all through our roster. The only reason I see Rosen not being chosen by the Jets is dumb Woody's even stupider boss dictating it..
