I'm assuming that Mac and the Jets are not blind to the fact that other than being 6'5" 233 lbs with a tremendous arm Josh Allen has no resemblance to an NFL-caliber QB at this point. He played mediocre football for a mediocre team in one of the weakest conferences, especially on the defensive side, in college football. I'm assuming that they're going to take a QB on the #3. I doubt they're willing to take Lamar Jackson or Mason Rudolph that high in the draft even though both of them have a much better chance than Allen of being a good NFL QB. Then again, Mac did draft Hack in the 2nd round. This is one of the big reasons the Jets are in trouble right now. He might really be blind to the fact that QB's learn how to play effective football between 11 and 17 before they ever hit college, let alone the pros.
There may be no guarantee that the Jets are taking Mayfiled but the is 0.00% chance that they dont take a QB. They didnt trade up to 3 for Chubb
I agree with what u said. All my thoughts on all qb are based on what I read. I don’t watch college ball. Mary Mayock has Allen as second best. Mel Kiper has Allen as the best qb. Phil Simms and boomer love Allen. I have draft over loaf. Don’t know what to think anymore. Whoever Mac picks we gotta hope he’s right and others are wrong. But anyone who would draft hack does not give me a warm feeling
This. If they stayed at 6 and took BPA then I could accept Chubb if that's how things went but you don't trade your entire 2nd round for him
He has the lowest floor but the highest ceiling IMO It isnt just a bazooka arm...its the way he can sling it down field on the run with no effort Just watch his highlights, he's like a man amongst boys in some of them All of these QBs are risky in some way or another and I personally have Darnold and Mayfield ahead of Allen.... I just dont get how people can be so against a guy that might go number 1 overall....there's a reason for it
No ..it didn't happen because Capt Kirk stood by his word and didn't take the Brinks truck deal from the Jets OTOH He did take the most ridiculous offer of ..what 85 Mil Guarantted from Minnesota??? BUT ITS A TEAM ON THE CUSP OF A SB...no guarantees of course..Personally I think that wasn't really smart..Cousins will get you in the Playoffs but after that I see him choking..Coach Zimmer I am sure hopes I am wrong beacause his job will be toast

I think they felt with an average QB they were SB contenders and with Kirk an above average QB it could take them over the top. Will it? Probably not... they love to choke hard... but so did Philly until this past season?!
Plus to that ..a whole bunch of family are Eagles Fans and I am done after 50 years of stupidity IF the impossible happens!!!!
