Okay here we go. I just came up with this, it's risky but it could pay off. The draft goes like this 1. Browns - Darnold 2. Bills (trade with Giants) - Rosen 3. Jets - Barkley Here's where it gets interesting. The Jets then call Cleveland, and offer their 2019 first round pick as well as a 2020 first round pick to select Mayfield or Allen. Would you do this deal?
Well I would do that... I think lol Like I have said elsewhere we have a game changing RB that can do it all and a bit early for claims but a probable HOF and he is one of us and we are going to let him wear that shitty Shitty Orange/brown uniform, what a waste for the lad.
No offense to the OP but here is what I do if I am Cleveland. I laugh like hell at The Jets for trading 4 picks for a RB then I call Buffalo and get their 2 1st round picks and more as that is worth much much more in value than 2 picks from future drafts as next years 1st is only worth a 2nd round pick and a 1st from 2 years is only worth a 3rd round pick
No way way in Hades that Cleveland would do that, they aren't that stupid, as the Jets anyway for even attempting that.
Why in the fuck would the Jets take Barkley, trade their ‘19 and ‘20 first rounders to Cleveland, to trade for a player they could have drafted at #3? This is how you ha e it worded. I think what you are trying to do here is that you want the Jets to handcuff Cleveland because we got fucked by Buffalo in this scenario. Your use of “offer” is incorrect. The Jets “request” Cleveland’s 19 and 20 first rounders plus Mayfield for Barkley. But yeah, if I’m Cleveland, I’m telling the Jets to suck my dick. I’m drafting Nelson or Chubb and I’ll take A RB in round 2.
The Jets would be playing a game of chicken at that point. If anything they would tell us to go F ourselves and take the BPA. If anything, we should consider offering the Giants a 3rd round pick to move up to 2 and take the guy we really want.
You’re a good poster and I know you like Barkley a lot, I do as well. He’s just not in the cards for the Jets this year and we would be way better off taking the QB at 3 and taking a RB prospect in the 3rd or later. We gotta remember the QB is just the first step, this team isn’t a QB away. We get the QB this year and go into next offseason with a ton of cap space again and nearly a full arsenal of picks. We are likely to be picking in too 10 again and that is a great place to be when you already have your QB in place. I’m already dreaming about the trade down scenarios for next year. Bottom line is RB is a lot easier to fill than QB is.
I’d be shocked if they took Barkley. There is a good chance Darnold will go 1 I’ll give the OP that. 2nd overall I’m almost sure will be traded to either Buffalo QB, Cleveland Barkley or Denver QB. The Jets are going to have a chance at either Allen/Rosen/Mayfield. Let’s see who Mac likes....
HELL NO! You need to let go of Barkley. Your obsession with Barkley is nuts. You want to leave the Jets without their first and 2nd round picks next year and no 1st round pick in 2020? Thank God you aren't the GM!
IMO, The Jets would have to give up substantially more than 2 future 1sts for the number 4 overall. It's not like they are just moving up a few spots, they would need to throw in somebody like Jamal Adams/Leo Williams and a bunch of other picks as well.
What some people don't understand is that by trying to trade back THE PICK AFTER YOU PICKED you're basically asking for another team to shit on you, in this case the Browns. If we let the Browns shit on us and charge us first round picks for the next 3 years the Jets take the cake as the biggest joke organization in history.
