There will be future cuts later in the offseason. We don't need to fill the roster now.

I was actually asking ColoradoContrails a question.
I saw he felt Suh was an asshole but he wanted Pouncey as we're quite a few on this thread.
Suh I'd a dirty player, no question.
Pouncey is a gangbanger who is open about his affiliation, has off field issues and was involved in a double homicide with Hernandez in FLA.
Suh is a great player, Pouncey is declining fast, has 2 bad hips and can't stay healthy.
Don't really see how he is desirable and Suh isn't.

If I remember correctly Pouncey could hardly ever practice. No thanks, not a fit. No miss there.

I was one of the ones who thought Pouncey would be a good signing if healthy. I didn't know about his being a gangbanger or being involved in a double homicide with Hernandez in FL. If I had known that, I would never have wanted him, I wouldn't have cared if he was a future first ballot HOFer.

And competing against no one for his services. I guess Macc and Bowles rewarded him for those 5 wins and saving their jobs.

We technically dont know if nobody else was competing for McCown's services

He played very well for us last year. And he had a number in mind. If the Jets didnt hit it and there was no other suitors he probably just retires. Then who's we be left with? Nobody

Wasn't aware of that record. So, no, wouldn't want him, and looks like we won't get him anyway. Thanks for pointing that out.

A tackling dummy would be an upgrade over McCown. I guess you forgot we signed Bridgewater too.

Bridgewater is a longshot reclamation. He's very limited in what he can do on the field

McCown vs. Bridgewater in camp and McCown would easily win the job.

Football is a team game. The defense was the problem last year as was a leaky o-line. Not McCown.

Bridgewater is better than McCown will ever be. McCown has won nowhere. He is a journeyman with an emphasis on journey. Never will be the guy he is just a warm body.

Mccown was outstanding for us last year. Bridgewater has taken what two snaps in two years and has 1 pick to show for it? How can you rely on that? We'd have to totally dumb down our offense too for Bridgewater

What's going on with this guy Meredith on the Bears? He posted a tweet implying he was visiting teams, but then deleted it. The Bears placed a tender on him.

I would sign that guy if he somehow gets free. He was pretty good in Chicago.

Outstanding? Come on man!! McCown was barely capable. He did just enough to lose a lot of games. Nothing outstanding about him. The Jets threw a donut against Denver. How outstanding was he in that game? I'll tell you he threw for an astounding 46 yards. 10 million a year for more of that is ridiculous.

He got hurt in that game. Our horrible oline let him down

His stats were great in the 13 games he started. Dumb Teddy will never play as well as McCown did. All he can do is dump offs

With the Jets 44 million under the cap and with no 2nd round picks now, it makes sense for the Jets to gamble on some free agents. I’m not saying you throw big money at guys past their prime like Pouncey, but some 1-2 year deals that may be a little more money than other teams are offering could be well worth it. They still have to upgrade the talent level on the team and with our lack of draft picks this could be the Jets opportunity to get some young guys hungry to prove themselves with a second chance.

I'd like to see us maybe sign Julius Thomas to a 1 year deal. Not very confident with Leggett/Tomlinson.

I am expecting Leggett to take a big step this year. I think they are are going to give him a chance to show what he can do.

No thanks. Slow as molasses and offers nothing until you're inside the 10. Pass on him. He'd be a waste.
