Its looking like we will have to trade up if he's going to be our new Q/B

Love Mayfield but pro days are meaningless.

They’re really just a chance for scouts and executives to get onto the campus and talk to teammates, coaches, classmates, faculty, etc to learn more about the player.

I wouldn't say they're meaningless. They're certainly less important than watching video of games, but it gives them a chance to eyeball a players' fundamentals up close and personal, and verify that he can make all the throws, etc.

Pro days are scripted so although there's some interest and validity to having them, the proof is ultimately in the pudding.

Baker had a fantastic college career and within the right system and circumstances I think he can have a very nice career in the pros. I would love to have him on the jets because aside from his skills on the field, he's a natural leader, fiery and has swagger.

We have to look how our team is currently constructed. It's a young team and with Jamal Adams being as vocal and fiery as he is on defense, someone like that on offense would, in my opinion, compliment this team. We have not had an identity since 2010 IMO, and I think that if we land Baker, the jets will regain an identity, an image, and confidence.

What's going to be interesting is how other teams view him. Will they think his attitude is too much? Will they knock him for it and how short he is?

There is going to be a run on QB's early IMO so Jets will need to be locked and loaded to get up and go get their guy.

I think a lot of Jets fans look at him as the heir apparent of Joe, at least characterwise. That would be great if he could pull it off and not end up like Sanchez, a star on Madison Ave, but less so at the Meadowlands. I think you're right, this team needs a leader and identity badly.

I think Mayfield will be there at 6 if we want him.
Getting him while retaining our other picks would be good value, and worth rolling the QB dice.

I think our only competition is the Browns at #4 (although that means another QB slides), or a team trading into #3 or #4 like the Cardinals or Dolphins.
If Buffalo trades up I really think it's for Allen or Darnold.
Denver I think would prefer Allen, Darnold, or Rosen over Mayfield as well.

I don’t put much stock in pro days, but he did nothing to detract from what I’ve already thought about him...

He’s special + is going to be a damn good pro qb.
It’s rare to see a guy as fluid and natural throwing.

Certain guys just make it look easy, he’s one of them. Has a bit of that rare attitude, where if he makes a bad throw, he gets so pissed, he can’t wait to get a chance to make that next throw... and that throw is almost always pinpoint accurate.

He’s my favorite qb in this draft.

Are there still FOOLS out there who think STAYING AT SIX is SMART???????? Or maybe you thought Capt Kirk would also beam down to Jet camp...LMAO

TOO many variables in play here from Buffalo Denver and 4 other teams who say one thing about who they like to throw ya off..5 teams ahead of us who you could only GUESS their intentions..

Why fool around????? SECURE THE QB YOU WANT! ( by THIS time the FO should know who that is...)

Mac..make your trades and get us to the 3 spot ..Get Mayfield or Rosen and don't look back

"Roll the QB dice" Are you kidding ???..Take a look at the roster..I would not call one year deals for 2 QBs and a sec Round putz security for the future....so THATS dicey already

Go ahead and play your guessing game ..but I HARDLY THINK Baker M or ANYBODY good will be there at 6

The way it’s looking one of the 4 QBs will be there for us. Unless some crazy trades go down.

If worse comes to worse Chubb will be there for us at 6.

I can’t see Mac giving up our 1st next year to move up... I’d only move up for Allen/Darnold/Mayfield. If Rosen is there at 6 I’d be ok with it but I have my concerns

You do realize that drafting a QB doesn't mean the position is solved right?
Of course there is risk in taking a QB top 5. I'm not saying not to take the chance, just pointing out that it is a gamble.

I'm willing to bet you one of the 4 QB's is there at 6.

Not that it matters now, apparently we will be using our 1st round pick plus 3 2nd round picks on the gamble now.
