Listen guys it will take 5 picks to move up imo I like the idea of using at least a first and sec from 2019 ..If you need picks to move up get what ya need in FA with $ left.. sign another OL CB or LB The PURPOSe of this draft is to get a FQB ..with all the ammo. You got
Lol, he came into the league at a young 21 and Maye was on the older side for rookies. This is why you draft young players. Adams is only 22. Leo has already played 3 seasons and he’s still just 23. Lee is 23 after 2.
Just curious where you got the$20 million for the draft? Think that's a little bit high. 1/2 that would seem about right.
Vinny Curry, please. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...s-release-vinny-curry-after-declining-pay-cut
it's way high. it's more like 9 mil. we have around 50ish left after accounting for rookies. we can still land matthua and a couple other mid tier players with room to spare
Nah..maybe 35 left if that. Still seven contracts that haven't posted Still, to have 35 left after adding 9 players is a lot.
who are we missing? bridgewater - 5mil claiborne - 7 long - (estimate) 7 williams - (estimate) 7.5 pennel - (estimate) 4 crowell - (estimate) 4 santos, brooks, ijalana = probably around 6-7mil total for all 3 added up that's about 40-41mil likely so we may be sitting at only about 10mil left. dam we signed a lot of players. I'm hoping we can still add mathau but that's likely it for free agency then
Ah, nevermind, I misread the previous post. By my calculation we are at around 20m including draft pics and unposted contracts. Given the choice, I'd rather spend on the oline at this point, rather than bring in a luxury player like Mathieu, although cutting Skrine would pay for half of his deal this year.
Sounds like a plan. When they draft a QB and an Olineman, along with the FA signings and the rest of the draft it's gonna infuse a lot of energy and hope into the fanbase.
Maybe it's the total number you are using..before those contracts get added in they only have 64M left now. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/new-york-jets/cap/
going off their numbers 129.6 (top 51) dead money 12 total cap charges 141.6 adjusted cap 194.5 cap room 52.9 they didn't add in the players i listed before so that's another 40ish leaving us at 12.9 less about 9 for rookies that's 3-4 mil left not sure why OTC and sportrac differ so much. OTC has 115.8 for the top 51 i see ST has enunwa 1 mil higher then OTC i'm sure there are other minor differences as well also i notice they both do have crowell in there at 2mil so add another 2 mil to my 3-4 estimate if using sport trac numbers that leaves us at 5-6 mil
The rookies are already added in, the call it the draft pool. I still think your estimates for the players not added is high and that we have about 30m left even now.
The way they list it is confusing. some things are double counted in a sense, that's why i broke it out like i did easiest way to do it is Cap number + carryover - top 51 - dead money 177.2 + 17.3 - 136 -12.1 = 46.4 bridgewater - 5mil long - (estimate) 7 williamson - (estimate) 7.5 pennel - (estimate) 4 Ijalana - estimate 2mil Santos - estimate 2 mil Brooks - estimate 2mil are the 7 missing total 29.5 also i forgot 1 part, because the way the top 51 works i can add .6 per player so .6 * 7 = 4.2 so 29.5 plus 4.2 = 33.7 give or take my estimates. so that leaves about 33.7 mil minus the rookie pool they have at 9.7mil so less 9.7 mil = 24 roughly to spend as of now. of course that could differ based on how the estimate contracts are structured. so we could add the honey badger and even an o-lineman still
How has the Saturday move to 3 affected the Cap Space? We will now have to pay for the third spot but will save on the 3 draft picks we traded, so is this an overall Cap saving and how much do we have left to fill in for those traded picks?
I always heard you had to have about 20 million for the draft. I'm not 100% right. I heard the 3rd overall pick should be about 6 million. Without our seconds it could be less now.
