Cut Skrine put Tyrann in the slot and go to the most dominant 7-9 pass defense this league has ever seen
Good to hear he is coming back. I think the team could have went 2 or 3 years, but maybe he didn't want to? Claiborne last year was our #1CB.. now he's the #2 and should improve on last year with Johnson on the other side. I'm looking forward to Johnson/Claiborne/Adams/Maye... as for the slot CB?? hmmmm.. Welcome back Mo.
Is Chubb that much of a pass rusher though? Seriously, I read that he is good but not game changing good. Still would rather go QB and start giving the offense some sort of jolt. Glad Claiborne is back as well.
Just saying. It's possible, not necessarily my choice. You can't take one of the other edge guys there tho.
Can't imagine anyone is unhappy about this move. Anyone else notice how many contracts are shorter than you might expect, and in particular without a team option? Just on the Jets there's Bridgewater and now Claiborne. The most obvious one of course is Cousins. I wonder if other players saw how he won big by betting on himself and are deciding to give it a try too? Or maybe the NFLPA is quietly encouraging it? Very dangerous in a sport like football, but if it works out it drives the market higher for everyone.
I love the idea of that, but it may be overkill considering we still have no idea who the QB will be in a year. He's a luxury at this point, but hell, how much do we have left to spend? 40m?
