As far as I'm concerned, even though they have needs at those other positions, those prospects (Chubb, Nelson and Barkley) are great, and we haven't had a real threat as an edge rusher since John Abraham, there is no decent consolation prize. The QB is that important. The Jets HAVE to get a QB this year. They stand little or no chance of getting one next year, unless something crazy happens and they wind up drafting in the top 3 next year.
Yeah let’s me get right on that for you....... Couple off the top of my head (I ain’t digging up research from 20 years ago) Carson wentz Jared Goff Joe Flacco Eli Manning Can a trade up go bad? Of course. And to be clear, I said this in my post you quoted.
No, he'd better not. That would be a BIG reach. I'd take Allen at #6, but not Jackson. I don't think Jackson is that good a prospect, and even if he were, they'd have to make some serious changes to their offense. If I was desperate enough to take Jackson, I'd have to trade down to around 12-15, and even then would feel like I was making a major reach.
That could be a really likely scenario if the 4 QBs are gone. Try to trade down mid range in the first and hope the target QB is still there.
If that happens, we'd better hope that Teddy Bridgewater wins the starting job and plays like many of us thought he could/would coming out of Louisville. I think Jackson is a project and might need to sit for a couple of years. Can you imagine Jets fans (posters here) if Mac takes yet another project QB that has to sit for 2 years?
Hey guys. I have an important opinion. I am going to type 500 letters to describe that opinion. It has to do with multiple players. I'm very passionate about these guys. Guys like Saquon Barkley, he's really good. Some guy named Chubb, I hope I'm talking about the right Chubb. I'm also going to talk about offense. I'm really passionate about it. And defense. It's really good. I want to tell you, these things I'm talking about, they are very important. Manish or Cimini, they don't know this stuff. I'm going to tell you. We need to draft guys that will help us. We can't go 3-4 or 4-3. We have to be productive. Guys have to show up. This is a production league. You have to produce.
I'm taking Barkley no matter who is on the board. Not a popular decision here, but he's the closest thing to a sure thing in this draft.
Your getting nervous now, aren't you? It will give TB his 2 corners and 2 safeties, he will be a happy man with Mcown as his starter. Running the ball 45 times a game! Also pay attention to my avatar, he will be the next QB of the Jets after this season.
