I was always fond of Kyle Brady unnecessarily going to the ground for a 3 yard catch on 3rd and 7 with no one around him

He was as bad a pass catcher as he was a great blocker. He was like human Flex Seal.

Sorry, my bad. I got his age mixed up with Jimmy Graham's. Still, his injury history is a MAJOR concern or should be.

Kyle Brady. I still hate him for turning into a good player. That's basically my feeling on most of the backup TEs we had over the past 15 years.

It's like they are destined to go to the AFC North or South and become a Pro Bowl player.

Actually, fuck the Jets for not knowing what to do with them.

Eric Ebron is available. Or so I was told. Is he much worse than ASJ?

I mean, he couldn't produce much for the Lions, with Stafford throwing at him. Can't be much better than ASJ for sure, no?

This seems to be a pretty strong draft class for TEs. I’d look to take one in the 2nd rd if ASJ doesn’t come back, or actually even if he does.

is ASJ signing with Jax now? He left Seattle without a deal.

I still think we should re-sign him. Give him more money but not guaranteed, this way he can bet on himself with the team leaving themselves an out.

While I agree with your logic, I see a lot of discussion saying take a Center in round 2, take a RB in round 2, take a TE in round 2, etc...

But if we trade up for a QB, there is no round 2.

That’s true, I won’t complain if that happens. Unless the QB Mac selects is a complete bust then I’ll probably complain.

I am starting to warm to the trade down idea with Arizona for another 2nd and 1st next year.

    1- Jackson/Rudolph
    2a - TE/C/HB
    2b- TE/C/HB
    2c- TE/C/HB

I’m sure it won’t happen as hell would freeze over before the Jets spend 1st 4 picks on offense. If we stay at 6, I’d probably look at TE & C in 2nd and still should be able to look at HB in 3rd.

^ one of the reasons I'd like to re-sign ASJ.......IF we take the plunge on drafting a new QB he's going to need a TE safety outlet.
the QB will also need a TE to contribute in run blocking to take some pressure off the passing game.
    might be worth signing him.

as an alternative Ed Dickson is available too.
30 yrs old, but a good blocker and has experience playing H-back and lead blocking.

I like Eifert as well, but definitely an injury gamble.

They signed Niles Paul while ASJ was at the facility I believe. Savage.

He's not blowing anyone's hair back, apparently. Gotta be the drinking issues.

Both sides should probably settle on an incentive-laden deal. Offer the 2/$8m deal, include some incentives and make him earn the extra $3m he wants.

ASJ is in a rough spot. He wants 8M per but nobody will give it to him. He can take our offer or we can sign Ebron, Eifert or Thomas. Or draft Gesicki.

I would take Gesicki over all of them.
