I thought DD was finally filled out and put it all together- loved his beastly play As much as id want to resign him, I'm worried he won't live up to the deal
People forget how long 3 years can be in the NFL in terms of player depreciation. 3 years ago we were looking forward to another outstanding season from Revis
I agree. Pretty happy to have Bridgewater (although I'd like him under control for longer) and while I'm more excited by Johnson, this guy seems like a quality acquisition as well. Crowell.... meh.
Good signing u dont pay ILBs double digit figures unless their names are Kuechly or Wagner, he graded out as Rotoworlds Top available ILB and actually #3 ILB according to PFF last year behind those same two guys according
Read an article this morning that Dick LeBeau took this kid off the field on passing downs. So we paid a 2 down LB who couldn't cover his own shadow $7.5M/yr. Rather uninspiring. Johnson was the only move so far that really helps this team. Overpaid but we needed a big, lock down corner and he may be it.
Penny pinching or jsut not over paying someone coming off a career year? Davis was shit early for us. The Browns signed him and then traded him back for a bust they would cut before camp was over. Davis has exactly one good year to his resume and wants to get paid. No reason to fall in to that trap. It seems Mac may have learned a bit from the big Mo saga.
He was the best run stopper on a top 5 defense against the run and grades out to be a “high quality” LB (second highest grade) from PFF. Also grades as the 6th best run stopping LB per PFF. I don’t think labeling him a two down LB does him any justice unless you’re going to point out how great he is when he’s on the field. Didn’t half the fan base lose it’s mind when Snacks, a two down interior DL, signed with the Giants for 10+ mil a few years ago? This is a good contract.
I think Williamson has been better over the last three years. Davis had a monster year, one, and wants to get paid for it. We got younger and saved money by signing a player that consistently plays at the 100ish tackle a year level.
Other than his first year when he played part time, DD has been a 100 tackles a year guy or close to it. Only thing Jets did was get younger at position which is a good thing. They did not sign a guy who is better, they just kept the status quo. There's a reason Tenn only offered him $3M/yr. Great? Hardly. Average? Sure. Like I said, uninspiring and a liability on passing downs. The Jets more than doubled the Titans offer. Probably didn't need to go that high to sign him.
