He's the kind of beat writer that let's personal distate dictate too much in his reporting but he has broken quite a few stories and some of his vendettas have proven to be on the money. I prefer Darryl Slater and Connor Hughes, but Cimini and Manish have their spots for the occasional read.
Hughes doesn’t even like the Jets. He barely wants the job and would leave the Jets if the Giants paid him more. Thats his team. He comes off as someone that knows it all. Hughes doesn’t know dick. Slater is much better.
Hughes lets his age shine through more often than not. The condescending, sarcastic tweets with the high and mighty tone he takes turns me off to him completely.
Manish has been proven right more often than he is wrong. It's funny. Everyone LOVED Manish when he first got on the beat, I mean absolutely loved him, he was adored by many in this fan base -- and then he started with the attacks on some beloved players and everyone, including myself, lost their freaking minds. Truth is, he's a good reporter, who yes has his flaws, but is correct more often than he is wrong with the Jets and Jets players. Now when it comes to Doug Marrone, I don't know what the hell that was all about, but I have to say I had zero interest in Marrone at the time either, so it is what it is. I don't think he's the main reason Jacksonville did what they did last season.
What? Why would the Giants pay him more? More than who? How can he "leave the Jets" when he doesn't work for them? He's not supposed to be a toady for the Jets, actually he's responsible to his readers to tell what's going on with the team, warts and all.
Idk. He expressly said on Twitter that he would like to be covering the Giants, but it’s more convenient to cover the Jets or something. Might have had something to do with pay. He did say it had to do something with commuting and his gf/wife. But he made it seem like he didn’t want to be covering the Jets. This was this summer.
When Manish first came on the beat, he was widely beloved by many Jets fans. I remember it. I'm sorry if you don't.
I remember quite well thank you. Saying that "many Jets fans" loved him is different than saying that "everyone loved him." That's what I took issue with, because I didn't love him, and I know quite a few others who didn't as well. There has been only one Jets beat writer over the last 20 years or so that I and many Jets fans loved, and that was Randy Lange. We were happy for Randy when he was hired by the Jets, but we were sad for ourselves, because Randy was the only decent Jets beat writer.
I don't think you understand how this works. He works for the newspaper, not the Jets and not the Giants. The team does not pay the guy. Your vague recollection of an old tweet doesn't help clarify anything.
Upon the Giants organization, this sixth day of March two thousand eighteen, I hereby bestow the curse of Manishhhh!!!!!!!
I feel like Mannish fabricates a lot of his material. All these mythical "anonymous sources." He was okay back in the day when he did more than just sensationalist drama just to get clicks. His gimmick is old.
My boy had the bridgewater McCown rookie (Allen/Mayfield) combo months before anyone Mrs. Wilkerson would be proud
There ya go..3 cheers for mannish Hip hop horray.. I guess this now means Richardson is coming back now too
