IMO, the Jets don't necessarily need the most TALENTED QB in the NFL ... as nice as it is, I would prefer someone we can win with and make plays late. Cousins will never be a top 5 QB, but at his best? With an improved roster? I think the Jets could win and win big. Just front-load the contract.

    I voted yes.

In any case, our worst case scenario may transpire because the Vikings are not going to tag Case Keenum which means to me that they will also be all in on the Cousins sweepstakes. Although they cannot offer the same amount of money the Jets can, I think Kirk is going to see how much better of a team they are and opt to go there unfortunately.

Weak free agency class in general will mean we may make a few splash moves but the QB question will ultimately linger until the draft IMO.

If we do strike out on Cousins, look for jets to re-sign McCown and draft a QB at 6 or trade up (which I am not in favor of) to trade a QB.

I don't think we have as many holes as people make it seem. QB, OL, OLB, CB,

100M in cap space and 3 picks in the first 2 rounds should be able to solve 80% of the holes.

True perhaps, but the majority believed the earth was the center of the universe before Galileo proved otherwise. Majority opinion still doesn't = fact.

Actually, based on the report that the Vikings aren't going to tag Keenum, maybe this poll - and the Kirk Cousins Megathread - are rendered moot.

The more the merrier CC. I like having a lot of options and I liked what I saw from Keenum.

    Just teasing.

But in a more serious vein, when do we start the "Do we want to sign Case Keenum?" poll?

Fell free to start a QB centric poll CC. Put in Keenum and other options if you prefer. :)

I think it is the safest bet, but it could effectively put a ceiling on us. I really just want to see us be competitive and be a force in the AFC. No more getting shit on.

However, with that being said, I do not think it is the most exciting. I would really love to have a rookie QB and have him ascend to greatness. We shot ourselves in the god damn foot by winning too many games.

I don’t know if I would want Josh Allen at #6. I would rather have above average QB play by a drafted QB than by Cousins, but idk if we can achieve that.

I would prefer a drafted QB, just not sure if that QB will be left at #6. The Cousins stat of 4-19 against winning teams is very concerning. I like him and think he could do good things for us. However, it is time to draft a QB at the top of the draft. It could be a mistake if we reach.

In my life, I have seen the Jets commit outright to two drafted QBs, Pennington and Sanchez. Those were the best years to watch.

    NO TO COUSINS.

Not necessarily opposed to signing him... but I'd prefer drafting a QB and bringing back McCown.

    Nein Nyet No!

I like Cousins, and I hoped the Jets would draft him when he came out of college, but I don't want him now. He will cost too much, I don't think he's worth what he will cost, and I don't think it's the right move for the Jets.
